I posted before, doubt anyone remembers () that my midwife is not currently practicing. She's spending time w/ her young kids for now, but is starting to miss the moms and babies. Anyway, I finally emailed her old partner, who told me she'd be happy to take me on. She also remembered me, which I was very surprised about since I only saw her a few times and she couldn't make it to ds3s birth. She remembered me b/c of the longies I was knitting. 1 leg was MUCH longer than the other when I was done b/c I lost count of rows and I was really really wrong when I eyeballed them at the same length. :rofl They were super cute other than that.

Anyway, I'm very happy to have a midwife. I was afraid she would say no b/c she lives almost *2 HOURS* away!! So she might not even make it in time if I have the predicted precipitous labor, but that's ok. I feel much more comfortable w/ UC if I know someone is on their way--as long as I don't have to leave my house, I'm happy. And if something is "off" and I have a long labor, she'll be here and know what to do.

My mw was GREAT, but I have heard that this midwife is so phenomenal, she's amazing. I'm not sure I understand, but I guess I'll find out. lol I have heard some stories. Apparently she has some sort of gift that no one can explain. Like she'll tell a breech baby to turn around and it will, or if a mom is hemorrhaging, she'll tell her to stop bleeding and she will. Now, I know some people will think these sorts of things are crazy, and as a scientist, I can understand, but I totally believe people w/ these sorts of gifts exist and I'm sort of honored to have one as a mw. lol

Now I just have to figure out what to do about the prenatals, I guess driving 3-4 hours round trip once a month isn't too bad, but when I start going every week, that's going to suck. Maybe since I'm so healthy and have never had major pg problems, I'll be able to keep it at every 2 weeks even at the end.
