I'm a writer by trade, but I'm a reporter, so I write more about political campaigns and road financing rather than children's fiction.
Anyway, I've been threatening to write this book forever and I've finally done it. It's a 28-page picture book about a child whose mother is having a midwife-assisted homebirth, and I think it's pretty sweet.
That was the easy part. Now I need to find a publisher. I may actually have a lead on one through a professional contact. I'll let you know.

Cooool! I remember you from the DDC~happy Birthday and some! Sounds like a great idea~I have started 3 childrens books, but my add brain and scattered life with two babes, plus thinking about HOW it could actually happen~stalls me... Do you just have to have it in manuscript and illustration form for a publisher?
Best of Luck, Cyrus looks great! Can't believe it's been a Year ! Pretty sweet huh?

Congratulations!

We loved Welcome with Love when I was pregnant. But that was the only one I found at that time.

Check out Platypus publishing or something like this? I think they are AP-oriented.
