I know how you feel. I only gained 3, but it was a jump from the 1/2 lb I gained last month. Makes you feel like a whale. At least it did me.

Stop weighing yourself! Stop beating yourself up! What are you going to do about it now? Your body knows what to do to grow a healthy baby.

P.S. Stop weighing yourself. It's really better not to know.

PFT... Don't worry about it. I gained 7lbs in 6 weeks but I'm pretty sure that 6 of those pounds came on in the last 4 weeks

I hate the scale. My MWs use it because they want to make sure I'm not gaining too much too quickly, and that I'm not *losing*, but I try to not look at it. It's depressing.

I shudder to think what the scale will say at my next OB appt. My "hollow leg" has returned! I had it with DD and it is back with a vengeance. I just finished dinner and am thinking about what else I can eat!

I gained 10 in 5 weeks last time. The receptionist at my OB held up fingers rather than say it aloud. But in the end I didn't gain too much, so I figure it was a baby growth spurt. I would not be surprised if I gain a lot in the next few weeks for the same reason, even m/w said I will probably gain pretty quickly soon (I only gained 2 lbs this month, which was good as if I'd kept gaining like I did in the beginning I was well on my way to gaining more this time around!)

As another poster said, I also lost it all and more thanks to bf, so really, I try not to get too worried. You shouldn't either.

When I was pregnant with my twins, and the scale hit 220lbs, I FLIPPED OUT at the doctor. (I was like 32w, and we knew I wouldn't go that much longer.) I was like:

THAT'S IT, I'M DONE GETTING ON THIS STUPID SCALE EVERY 3 DAYS (I had a lot of appts because of the TTTS, so I was literally there 2-3x/week) I AM TOTALLY OVER IT, I DO NOT WANT TO KNOW HOW MUCH MORE WEIGHT I GAIN, MY BODY IS FINE, I DON'T HAVE GESTATIONAL DIABETES, I'M PREGNANT WITH TWINS, AND I AM NOT, I REPEAT NOT, EVER GETTING ON THIS STUPID SCALE EVER AGAIN, I DON'T CARE IF YOU DROP ME AS A PATIENT I AM ABSOLUTELY DONE WITH IT SO HELP ME GOD I WILL SCREAM AT THE NEXT PERSON WHO TAKES MY WEIGHT....

And guess what?-- the doc must have seen that I was a crazed hormonal pregnant woman, and I never got on that stupid scale again.

Now I'd be THRILLED to see 220 :

I am happy I am gaining some weight because I was worried that I did not gain enough.

My sil gained 90lbs during her pregnancy, which worried her a whole lot. Now, almost 2 years later, she is back at her normal weight (she only breastfed for a very short time).

I like the idea of not weighing yourself though - stress is no good during pregnancy.

I'm right there with ya. I gained 10 pounds in 7 weeks. I was also super embarrased because I've been so good about avoiding junk food and I'm eating right.
