ds's first bday was yesterday. and i am really not sad : I'm enjoying his one-ness-- silly, funny, happy baby. he's not walking (but is going up and down stairs, climbing onto boxes, furniture walking) and he says "baby" clear as day (and means it), and "blueberry" kind of like buhbey (and means it) and da or dada for everything else

I came here just to find this very thread! Glad you started it! Happy Birthday to all the September 06ers out there! My dd was born on 9-25 and is taking her first steps (2 or 3) before falling down on her bottom. She nurses on and off throughout the day -- bm is definitely still her main source of nourishment and I see us bfing until whenever... She has one top tooth and two bottom teeth. She says ball, block, and book. It all sounds the same to me (blah) but I know she thinks she is making a different sound. Too cute! Still no mama, a bit of da. I am just so in love with her 1ness!!!

Thanks, Trequi! I'm sad too. Makes me want to have another baby! We're still breastfeeding with some solids. Seven teeth. Not walking but standing with support and cruising on furniture. Says dada, bird, block. Smiley baby. I feel very lucky.

Wow is one a fun time! My little Maya turns one on the 20th and is RUNNING all the time!! She took her first few steps at 10 months and has been walking ever since. She says a few words . . dadada, daw for dog, dat for cat and a lot of other things, mamama which is so nice to hear. Ack kind of for the boy I watch Jack.

She's got 6 teeth but is pretty much still only nursing. She likes to eat off a spoon a little bit and feed herself solids a bit but mostly only for play.

She doesn't sleep more than 3 hours in a stretch. THIS is HARD and I'm really looking forward to getting her to sleep longer but am trying to just accept that this is how things are right now.

Yay! I finally found this thread; for some reason I was having a really hard time with that

Well Alden's birthday was yesterday

Somehow, last month I managed to sign myself up to babysit a little girl all day yesterday, overnight and all day today, without realizing that it was going to be DS's b-day! : Oops!

So we just laid low at home, DH's g-ma and mom came over, and I got a few calls from other family

Alden is walking all over the place now (he took his first steps just before he turned 11 months), and is definitely my earliest walker!

He just started saying "Mama" yesterday, and says a lot, but not really very clearly...more like noises when he sees the kitty, etc.

He actually repeated the sound of DD and me calling "I love you!" to each other down the hall the other night
I know he doesn't know what it means, but it was still too cute!

We had a nice trip to see my family, got to just hang out at my parent's house and relax most of the time.
We actually met up with Sarah (gsmama2) and had a BLAST! I went to a LLL meeting with DS, and the next day took all of the kiddos and went over to her house, and met up with a play group (lots of really cool mamas, and one awesome dad) at a toddler park; we had lots of fun
I SO want to move down there now!!
(I've actually been looking at real estate online Sarah )

Anyway, it's nice to hear from everyone; it sounds like we're all having a fun month

So fun to read everyone's updates...now where is everyone else from our DDC? My little one is the happiest, smiliest little baby- climbing on everything but I don't think she is very eager to take those first steps. (unlike her older brother who took the plunge at 10 months.) Selfishly, I love that she is taking her time- it lets me enjoy her babyhood a little bit longer and it's much easier keeping track of my two babies. Had to laugh at a previous post because DD's favorite word is "baby" as well. Everything is baby or bobby. We delayed solids because of food allergies, so she is just getting started. Otherwise, tractors and all things farm/John deere seem to be her favorite (huge brother influence) and she is most content these days on my back or at the playground in a swing.

Happy birthing days to all and happy birthdays to your little ones! Anyone expecting another??

Are any mamas still here?? I did a thread a little while ago trying to find people.... But noone replied..........!! Aris was walking at 10 months - much to my annoyance! At one she could say "yay" "ta" and "hello" - Well almost more like "ello", as well as the usual mum, daddy and bubba. She can now say heaps more, she can say ducks, no (which she uses often!!) and me, she tries to say "give it to me" but it comes out "gibber tu meh" she says "ta mum" lots, or babbles sentances that end in "mum" so I know shes trying to tell me something I just don't know what!! She said "hello ducks" the other day which pissed me off more than you would beleive, shes yat to say "hello mum"!!! Hope everyones well..............!
