Ugh! Don't you hate it! I recently had a migraine and my mom had to watch her all day on a Sat and I hadn't washed diapers in almost 6 days. I HATED her being in those Huggies!

It won't be long! That's sweet of your mom to wash them! My mom wouldn't! She's supportive of some of my "crunchy" beliefs as long as she doesn't have to be the one to cosleep or wash a dipe! LOL.

My little man ended up wearing 3 huggies diapers, just long enough for dh to get home so I could do some laundry (ds has been ill and needing Mamma *constantly*; if I moved too much he'd get upset ).

It was actually kind of funny, because his pants fell right off his little tush! :LOL I was also reminded of how icky sposies smell when they're wet.. after 4 months of cloth, I'd forgotten.

It's funny how you get used to that big bottom isn't it? When dd potty trained recently I had to get out all of her shorts and pants that she had previously outgrown. They are now good for one more round. lol!

Heh. My MIL keeps **buying** me sposies! Even though I make cloth for a living!!!! She says that I need to have some "just in case". I wonder... just in case what? Emily got a bad rash the one time I put a sposie on her.... and it required a prescription and a couple of weeks of nakey time. I only had it on her for 30 mins!!!

I washed all my dipes and switched to sposies last night in case the power went out for awhile and my dipes would have to sit in the pail. I didn't want them to mildew. She had a rash on her bottom after the first dipe and it was too late to go buy a different brand, so dh insisted I put her back in cloth and take the chance of having to throw away mildew dipes and buy new ones. What a daddy

Mildew dipes..

I had a dipe mildew after I left it in the car by accident. I soaked it in vinegar overnight, then threw it in the wash and it was all better! A little sunshine got the stains out.

Everytime I have to put her in disposibles I bitch the entire time, until she is wrapped in cotton goodness again.

Ugh is right! I had to use disposables for a few days on our last vacation since we were away from a place to do any laundry. I hate how they smell and feel and look. My ds's bum looked so tiny! While I was using cloth at my MILs, she kept saying that she wanted to buy me some disposables - she thinks they are better She goes on and tells me a story of how my nephew wore a disposable so long that little blue pebbles burst out the back! She was right there when I had to use disposables too. She was quite happy until she realized that I still changed him as often. She told me that it was a good thing I used cloth because I would go broke using disposables: I told her that as long as I know something is in the diaper I plan on changing it and that it is pretty gross to leave a dirty diaper on longer.

Oh, I know! (about changing when they are wet) That is one that drives MIL *nuts*. She says, "You can wait to change her." or "Why don't you wait and let her finish, in case she has more?" or, my fav... we were about to leave for the 5 hour trip home and Emily wet, so I grabbed another dipe and started changing her and MIL said, "Why don't you wait until just before you guys leave so she can have a fresh diaper in the car?"

Huh?

And then they wonder why kids who wear sposies have rashes..:

My MIL is totally impressed that we're using cloth. When we first told her about the switch, she said "You know you have to change them when they're wet right away, but you change him a lot anyway so it probably won't be that different. " And my own mother tried to get my sister to use cloth with both her kids. She thinks that sposies are awful and wasteful, and that they're a sad excuse for a diaper. When I told her how much Eli prefers the cloth, she said "Of course he does! Wouldn't you prefer cloth underwear to paper?"

Before we started c'ding, we went to stay with my parents for a week, and they offered to buy the dipes for us. So, of course, I let them. BIG MISTAKE! That gave my mother all the freedom she needed to tell me how to diaper my daughter. I have always changed her frequently, and my mom noticed this right away, and said things like, "You don't need to change her yet...The diaper can hold more than that...You only need to change the diaper when it's poopy, not when it's wet...Wet diapers have never hurt a baby." I decided then and there, that she would never buy diapers for me again. Of course, we made the decision to start c'ding about a week later. Which she had more comments about like "Cloth diapers cause diaper rash." And anytime I tell her that we are battling diaper rash, she says, "Are you sure it isn't the cloth diapers." She is so unsupportive. But then again, she wasn't supportive of me b'fing either. She told me I should just give it up several times the first few months. Oh well, some people are just like that. Sorry, to get so OT.

interesting ... just had my first period (postpartum, that is) and found all my glad rags have really turned to RAGS. so i wasn't prepared to shell out the $$ for new ones and just got some stayfree for this time and UGH. in an hour i wanted it OUT, even though it wasn't "full"
so now i can relate to what babies in disposables are going through!

finally rolled up some old underwear i was about to throw away because the elastic was shot and inserted that in the ratty pouches. ANYTHING to avoid those again. esp at night YUCK. and to think i actually used these all through high school.

Eww.

I had to walk down the sposie aisle to get some baby juice (I had coupons that made it FREE, I don't even normally give her juice! But it was 100% juice for free!!).... anyway, I almost lost it over the diapers. I seriously was CHOKING on the smell of all those chemicals together.... it was soooo awful.

I used sposies for 10 months, HOW IN THE WORLD DID I DO IT?? GAG!

I have to put a sposie on my DD at night . . .she was in cloth for a year at night with no issues, but suddenly developed an allergy to fleece, and I'm suspecting even hemp . . .if I leave her in cloth at night, she wakes up quite red. So, we decided to use sposies at night. I'm glad to have something that keeps her skin looking healthy, but the perfumy smell is just SO nasty.:puke
