I hate thinking about food. I don't want to eat food. It makes me nauseous to talk about food or even THINK about food. But then I'm worried I'm not eating enough, so then I'm thinking more about food. I have to feed my 1 yo, so then I have to think about food for him--and feel sick.

I just want to drink ginger ale and caffeine free coke and eat salty potato chips.

I can't wait for this part to be over.

Me too! My husband is getting pretty tried of me trying to force him to think of what I want to eat for me.

I have been able to find some things I am interested in eating, particularly things that require close to no work to make. This has required me to sacrifice some of my standards (I normally don't eat frozen meals, for instance) but I have been finding natural frozen meals are really helpful to throw into the mix.

I've just come to the conclusion it is better to be eating and eating enough protein, than to cook all my meals.

Truthfully, the only thing I want to eat is lentils from a local Indian food restaurant. I think I may be headed back there today or tomorrow.

Wow! Lentils are so good for you! It's great you feel like eating them. I have also been doing some frozen meals from trader joes. I feel like it's hard to get good amounts of protein with frozen stuff. Maybe I'm just not getting the right stuff. I need to remind myself that even though it's more expensive, it's cheaper than eating out.

I also realized today that I'm only 7 weeks along. I thought I was 8. This has been a long two weeks of grossness.

Same here!!! Dh has been great and cooking for all of us. That helps with the smell and not having to think about food.

me too!

I keep getting hungry / but the thought of most food makes me feel sick. Must Eat/Can't Eat in an endless cycle. Wish I could be past this point now. Trying to remember to appreciate being pregnant but it is hard some days. Trying not to be overwhelmed thinking how many weeks of feeling like this might be left.

Meeeee too. And I am also loving the pototoes. Potato chips, hash browns, baked potato (all with tons of salt)..... and that's about it. But I'm finding that I get really dizzy (and even more nauseous) if I don't eat every couple hours. Sucks eating all the time when NOTHING sounds good.

Me too! It's gradually gotten worse over the last 3 weeks (i'm 12w) and I've lost 6lbs in 2 weeks. I'm eating, but only stuff like WW pitas I made, chicken, lettuce, apples, potatoes and turkey. Most foods I used to love, I now can't stand. In fact, most foods I can't stand. It's weird, as with my other kids, I was extremely sick, but had few if any food aversions. This time, I'm really nauseous, but no throwing up and can't stand food. Hopefully, this will let up, or I'll be losing a lot of weight this pregnancy.

Today was the first day in a month that I could go to the store with a planned menu. Praying I still want it once cooked.

I still love food and I miss it so! I miss cooking and eating so much. I am too tired to do too much but also can't smell anything while it cooks or I won't want to eat it. I'm trying ot keep snacking on small amounts but it's hard and I still puke at least once a day.

Here's to hoping that the 10 week mark brings some real relief!

Oh and i feel ya on feeding the kids! I have been letting them eat fruit and cheese and chips and cereal like crazy. They love it, I am not a fan, but no choice right now. Thankfully dh does cook.

Y'all, I have a food blog. This food aversion thing is killing my readership. I can't wait to "come out" on my blog and talk about it openly, as a sort of explanation/apology!

I have the opposite problem.....I am loving food. I am so hungry. I watch the food channel, drooling..I look at food blogs, drooling....I send my dh to the store daily for new foods...that I MUST have. I have gained so much weight already.

I hate food if I have to think about it and prepare it. But I can eat all day if I didn't have to make it.

Add me to the list, I cannot wait for this to be over!!! I'm in this weird "have to eat to not feel sick/but hate most food" state all day long. Most of my thoughts during the day are "what can I eat right now?". I don't think about much else (except feeding my 3 year old), and I've recently realized I'm not enjoying anything.
Sigh.
A couple more weeks, a couple more weeks, a couple more weeks.

Right there with you all. Cooking is torture. Trying to make my son meals and snacks throughout the day is torture. Grocery shopping is torture.

Same here. I haven't added a new entry in probably two weeks now. I'm not ready to make it public yet, either. So whenever I sit down in front of the computer and try to write something -- anything -- my brain just goes pfffffbbbbbtttt.

I also hate drinking water, which sucks.
