Not because I think they're bad, but because I hate to see all those neglected animals. They're showing a dog whose fur is so incredibly filthy and matted, it screams in pain whenever someone touches it or picks it up. They had to completely shave it.

I almost end up in tears whenever I watch shows like this.

Some things I just can't subject myself to, that would be one of them! I thank goodness we don't have cable......no chance of catching something like that.

What really bothers me about this is this...... society would never allow a show on cops picking up abused and neglected PEOPLE. They are HUGE news stories! We, as a society, need to make animal neglect and abuse a HUGE news story, not an entertainment show! Only then can we bring animal neglect and abuse the level of the heinous act that it is!

My daughter loves this channel and watches that show. We talked about it the other day and I explained to her that not all the animals they check on are in that bad of shape and for "tv purposes" they put the worst ones. My MIL had a saved dog that a man was mistreating so it is out there...sad...yet true...

THe show does make me angry - but I *love* the end, where they show that matted dog all cleaned up and learning to trust people again, and the skin n bones doggie all fat and happy. It does my heart good to see them nursed back to health.

I don't hate the show per se but I can't watch those types of shows or any show for that matter where I have to see abused or neglected animals. I'm glad the show exists because it raises awareness about the plight of ill-treated animals.
