I know, I'm 21 weeks, so it's about time! I don't know if you remember I posted a while ago that my midwife died suddenly. Well, I thought I had found a replacement in the last couple of weeks, but she just didn't feel right. Well, today, I called replacement midwife and told her thanks, but no thanks (obviously, I was nicer than that!) and I called the midwife who attended my first.

Anyway, I'm rambling and sleepy, but feeling much better about the whole pregnancy thing. I considered my midwife from my daughter's birth initially this pregnancy, but wanted to be at home instead of my midwife's home since I live too far for her to come to me. But it will be so worth it to have a midwife I already know and trust and not someone I have to try to get to know over the second half of my pregnancy.

I just thought I'd share an update. As soon as I had decided, I felt a great sense of peace. That's very nice for a change.

Congrats mama....and if I may share in your joy for a minute... I have one too!!
: I was also midwife-less for a while since my original choice dropped me, but have since decided to go back to my *chatty* one. Had a pre-natal appt with her last week and it was great. DH met her for the first time...as we were leaving her house I asked him what he thought and he said: "I think she's crazy!"

I'm glad that we both know for certain who our midwives are, and I feel you on that sense of peace. Wonderful, isn't it?

: I remember you posting about your midwife dying suddenly. I'm so glad you've settled on a midwife you feel comfortable with. That must be a huge weight off of your shoulders.

I am in a similar boat - I had been going to an OB group (I was originally told I was "high-risk" due to my previous uterine incision but they recently reviewed my surgical notes and discovered I am able to VBAC after all.) I was really disenchanted with the "drive-by" prenatal care I was receiving - a different OB resident every time. I was having a hard time "getting into" this pregnancy and I think it had a lot to do with lack of hands on care I was receiving.

This week I transferred to a Midwives practice - I haven't even had my first appt. yet but I already feel much better already! I think I have a much better shot at a successful VBAC now and I am starting to really make plans.
