I was feeling quite run down last weekend, with a very sore throat. I can handle it for myself.....gargling, herbs, homeopathics, etc.. But Edie was really sick on monday, with bright red throat with white patches on it.

We went to the clinic to get strep tests on tuesday morning. I have mono, Edie doesn't have anything but a sore throat.

While I am feeling pretty darned good now, I am a bit fearful that mono can kick my butt. I have always heard horror stories about it.

I have been getting lots of rest, doing echinacea goldenseal and oregon grape root, doubling up on some of my vitamins and other supplements.

So, I guess my question is, has mono kicked your butt? and how can I take care of myself so I don't go under with this.

Both times I have had mono it was a double whammy of mono & strep (oh, once pink eye was in the mix too!) The first case landed me in the hosp for a week due to severely enlarged spleen, dehydration and raging fever (I was 17). The second time I was treated with abx and stayed in bed to recoup for 4-5 days. DH took care of DS (2ish at the time) and I did not leave bed/bathrooms for days. Sounds like you are treating it more proactively than I did to start with. I hope you kick it out of your system quickly.
