So apparently when pregnant women say "oh my God, I have to pee, like, every hour" they are exaggerating because when I explained to my m/w last night that I mean it LITERALLY she became concerned : So, am I really the only pregnant woman who really has to pee pretty much every hour? I get up about 5-6 times per night even though I stop drinking anything by 8pm and during the day I can sometimes go longer if I am sitting the whole time but as soon as I get up, I gotta go! They are testing me for a UTI but I really doubt that's it.

I don't pay attention to how much I have to pee, but I know its often and I am only 12wks right now. Even early on I was up 6-7 times per night at 5wks to pee. It was like that with my last pregnancy too...no UTI ever. I'm just a pee-er!

I drink about 24 ounces with my prentals at bedtime and get up once or twice at night to pee. I think 5-6 times with no water right before bed is a LOT but I don't know why it'd be cause for concern either.

For awhile I was up every hour....now I can go about 2 hours or so at night. Very annoying. I am excited to hear that I might get more sleep once the babe arrives.

I am a pretty frequent pee-er when I'm not pregnant, but when I am pregnant, I pee at least once every hour.

Once in a while, I have to pee about every 5 minutes--I'm not even exaggerating--and there's really a significant amount in there. Other times, I can go several hours. I usually get up a couple of times a night to pee.

It's annoying, but I don't worry about it too much.

Thanks everyone. I wasn't worried about it either until my m/w said it wasn't "normal". Guess I'll find out on Monday what the verdict is on the UTI test.
In the meantime I think I'll just sleep in the bathroom...

I definitely pee alot more and my Dr. said that is totally normal. I actually soemtimes feel like I pee and then 5 minutes later I have to pee again. My first prenatal visit when they did my bloodwork and I had to pee in a cup they called me and said I had a UTI and I didn't even know it. Normally I would know right away because I would feel so much like I had to pee and nothing would come out and I would get a stabbibg pain and it that wasn't happening. I did have a bit of an ache in my stomach though and after taking the antibiotics it went away. Anyway, I thought for sure I had one again a couple of weeks later because I was peeing so much (the difference was that pee was actually coming out though) and I think I was getting a bit paranoid but I didn't have one. I have been drinking a small glass of cranberry juice every morning just to try and prevent another one but My Dr. said peeing alot is very common, your bladder can't hold as much as it used to either that is why you will pee sometimes and then pee again right after. Almost like breaking the seal when you are drinking beer :) that always happened to me, I would hold it and then once I went I had to keep going. Anyway, I would say as long as pee is coming out and you aren't in pain or any discomfort I wouldn't think you would have a UTI, I think it's very common to pee alot and everyone is different with how much they go.

PixieAlly, I just realized you are due this month. I heard from my sister, sister in law, friends, etc. that is so much worse towards the end and people get up every hour at night to pee. I would think at this stage she would think it's perfectly normal.

Similar to me... every 1-2 hours for me. It's gotten worse as I get farther and farther. I noticed it's worse when the baby is head down too (I figure I'm getting more pressure against my bladder).

Lol... I feel the same way. I hardly sleep because all I do is pee every hour of the night. I was thinking just staying in the toilet all night and sleep there.

For me sometime I feel like I have to pee even if I don't really need to just because of the way the baby is sitting on my bladder. Occasionally I will just finish peeing and feel like I have to go again. So I sit down and nothing comes out but I have the feeling its time to pee again. I will just talk to my LO and ask her to shift her weight off of my bladder and sometimes I try to jiggle her around so she moves. That often helps and then I can go for longer streatches with out needing to pee so much. I don't really keep track of how often I go, but it seems excessive.

I think its totally normal. I know that when I roll over at night (about every hour or more) that the baby flops and I have to pee. I drink a lot of water too.

Pelvic rocking, yoga modified cat/cow moves can move baby off your bladder. Do it 25 rocks right before bed.

I've heard that restricting fluids can actually make you need to pee MORE often, rather than less. The urine gets more concentrated, and that irritates the bladder, making the need more urgent.

My last pregnancy, I remember getting up 4-5 times a night to pee by this point. This time, I'm *just* starting to have to get up twice instead of once. I'm also not swelling a lot. I think it's due to dietary changes; I cut several foods (gluten, dairy, and canola) out because my DS reacts to them, and then realized soy doesn't do me any favors. If I eat something with soy now, I need to pee every 5-10 minutes for the next hour or two.

Not normal? Please.

Between 11-4/5, I pee once every hour. The longest stretch I seem to get without going to the bathroom, has been from 5-9 in the morning, but that's only because it's the weekend... I'm so tired!!!

I've tried not drinking anything after a certain time, but I go just as much and I wake up at some point with my mouth all dried out.

I could have written that. I pee constantly, it's clear, and it's annoying. There are times I have to stand up, take two steps, then go back and pee some more. I can feel pee even if it is only a few drops; cant have that, so I sit and push the rest out.

I cannot sleep if I feel an ounce of pee. My bladder has been through hell.
