My cousin introduced me to a type of photography I hadn't heard of, but had seen before. Now that I know how to do it I'm totally in love with it!

Those are very cool. Actually, I think my fave is the bridge- most of the covered bridge photos i've seen has them askew, instead of straight-on, symmetrical and right up front. I likey

Great work! I really love the bridge and the barn. Thanks for sharing. What type of photography is this? What's different about it? I haven't done photo for years and only ever did B&W in college.

It's called HDR, which stands for High Dynamic Range. What you do is take 3 (or more) photos, one at proper exposure, one over exposed, and one under exposed. Then you merge them together using either Photoshop, or a program called Photomatix (which is easier than Photoshop, honestly), adjust the color and such until it looks how you want it to.

Using HDR shows more detail in the shadows and the highlights of the photos.

That sounds really interesting. They do have more depth than a typical color photo. Very cool!

Those are AWESOME!! My DP has been doing some HDR stuff (just like you, either nature or structures.) He LOVES the effects. For those mamas and papas want to dabble, DP uses free online software. Maybe you can google it (he forgets the name- sorry)
