No you do not need to use the diva wash. Did you not get a pamphlet with care of it on it? Sorry - I can't remember - I didn't have much success with my diva cup - it's sitting in a drawer. I'm hoping for better success with it after baby.

I didn't buy the Diva wash. I just wash it with soap and warm water in between uses and then after my cycle I boil it in water for a couple minutes. Of course I haven't used mine in a while though. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/redface.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Embarrassment">

I've used mine for 2 cycles now and I just have washed it with soap and warm water and it seems fine. I think on the website it says it's okay to wash with regular soap. (I am starting to like my Diva. The cycle was aweful, this last one was a LOT better and I like it more then tampons for sure!)

I just use soap and water as well. I always mean to get around to boiling it but never do. When I was camping last month I used wet wipes, Purell and water.

I boil water and dump it in a large ceramic mug (no, we don't drink out of it <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile"> ) with half vinegar and let it soak. Then I rinse it, let it air dry and store it in the cloth bag.
