I'm going weekly to my MWs now. Last week I found out that I tested positive for GBS which really upset me (I really do not want a heplock/IV). Our office lets you do your own protein/diabetes strip and then just asks you if it was okay or not. Yesterday at my appt., it was the first time that showed a higher amount of protein than normal or acceptable. I was still so upset about already possibly having to have a heplock & abx that I just couldn't take talk of even more interventions. So, I lied and told them that the strip tested fine.

Just needed to get that off my chest.

How green did it turn? If it's only slightly yellow-green, that's happened to me a few times and they just told me to drink more water. Make sure you're super well-hydrated before your next appt and it should be less likely to happen again!

Drink lots of water AND make sure you (TMI?)...ahem...wipe...ahem ...before pottying. Mine was darker than usual last appt, and the mw said that can make a difference. She was right. It was fine again two days later!

You don't have to agree to the interventions

It turned the middle color on the strip. I think the 30+?

I was a bit dehydrated, so I will definitely drink more and the wiping next appointment!

I know, DivaMama... If it happens again I'll tell them and go in prepared to Just Say No!

Get alcohol pads and wipe with one before you pee. Make sure you're getting your water and protein in too... though I was a freak of nature and protein made me sick and test higher for protein. Most women it's opposite.
