I knew I loved her when I fell in love with her son... She raised him with such love and gentleness... She has become one of my dearest friends in just a few short months...

Well she has outdone herself today. She tricked me into giving her the link to the baby registry by saying she just wanted to look, no buying at this time. Well in the last hour she has purchased the Britax carseat, Co-sleeper, Chair and Ottoman, and baby swing. Every big ticket item but the high chair. All is being delivered to us... All of this on top of ordering $700 worth of baby clothes from Hanna Andersen 2 weeks ago... I feel light headed right now...

Mattie Grace is only her third grandchild. One is 21 and has lived with her most of her life. The other was given away as a young child so she has never had a relationship with him. This one is special because she is the daughter of her special son, the one that would never have a child, but the one that should have a child because of his gentle soul and neverending love... She says she has worked all of her life and now it is time for her to give back because she is set for her retirement.

I'm not sure why, but I had to share this. I am sitting here at my computer crying right now. DH and I struggle just to meet the bills, my vehicle was repoed last week, and because of my MIL we don't have to worry about Mattie Grace. I have never experienced such giving...

wow! what a great grandma. You are very fortunate to have her around.
It's also nice to hear something positive about a MIL!!! seems like there are far too many complaints about IL's!

How wonderful! Your MIL sounds great. I love my MIL too. She delivered my DH w/o meds and nursed him for 6 or 7 mos. She is all about supporting my desire for BF and natural childbirth. It's nice to have her support while so many others are discouraging.

OT: I love the name Mattie Grace. I wanted to name this baby Ella Grace, but DH is not a fan so we're still looking for a name.

Wow, how sweet. She sounds awesome in every way. Your baby will be so blessed to have such a loving, kind and generous person in her life. Gosh, and what a blessing for you to have these big-ticket items out of the way.
