I found <a href="http://www.mayawrap.com/sewSling.shtml" target="_blank">a site</a> that shows how to make slings. I've been wanting to make one for my dd when she is born. What kind of material did you use? I'm trying to figure out what will be best.

it's just 100% cotton <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile"><br>
instead of hemming the edges i just folded a piece of fabric right sides together, sewed up the sides leaving one edge open, turned it right side out and then topstitched all the way aroudn to keep it looking neat<br>
then i sewed up the open side, made a couple pleats, put the rings on and sewed it shut and voila <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile"><br>
HTH<br><br>
edited to add i probably wouldnt use this fabric for an adult sling, seems too lightweight...i've had success with material like a pair of khaki pants, i also did make a pouch sling using 2 layers of cotton (made me feel better that it was sturdy)
