okay to tell tne truth i havnt even started this pattern.. it looks so complicated, but i really want to make some NB sized ones for my baby due in november, so i know i have to get on with it.. but the tiny bird pattern seemed sooo simple in comparison( but the free pattern only has one size..). i dont even know what a short row is! i have knit in the round, and im good at it, but ak!

give me courage! how hard is this pattern really? if i can make longies on the flat can i do this?

You can do it! The pattern is really well explained and there's a forum for it where you can ask questions. I did the LTK longies as a new knitter. Go for it- the short rows look intimidating but if you follow the directions it is just one stitch at a time.
