I may give up my cloth wipes

Ds sometimes gets a red tushie from his poops, and he would fuss so much when I tried to wipe him off with our lovely, soft cloth wipes. I broke down and bought some Mustela wipes, and now he just lays there so still while I clean him. I think my baby prefers sposie wipes! :sob

Maybe there is something in the sposie wipe solution that has a soothing effect? What kind of wipes solution did you use on your cloth wipes? Sposie wipes.. do you use a wipes warmer or cold? Do you use the same temp of cloth wipes? You may want to look at those things
oh man dd did the SAME thing! I didn't think to use disposable wipes but I was really really gentle (took forever!) I also notice she fusses less when I have wipe solution on them as opposed to just water... the solution seems to make them glide, but I could be hallucinating from fumes from said solution...

I agree with Mizzy.

I'll never go back to sposie wipes. In fact, I started using cloth wipes long before I used cloth diapers! They work soooooo much better, and sposie wipes really hurt my baby's bum when he was a nb.

Velour wipes or wipes with velour on one side are SUPER soft to use and I swear by them! The cheap flannel ones are just garbage because they pill horribly and aren't very soft on the skin.I would try some velour wipes first before I would switch to sposie ones.Fishing out wipes from your dipes at wash time is not only gross but a pain in the arse too! Muttaqin makes some nice wipes sold at www.diaperco.com and you can also get some on ebay from WAHMs.

You might want to try velour wipes (much softer than any sposie wipe!) and make sure you've got some sort of oil, like apricot oil in your wipe solution to help them glide.
Are you using a solution on them? My guys couldn't tolerate anything that had TTO in it. One time Zach actually had red stripes on his bum from when I used a bum balm stick on him.

Oh, I love my cloth wipes, but I don't know what to do. We've been using the cloth wipes for about 8 months now. Theyr'e all velour/sherpa or flannel/chenille and nice and soft. I usually spray his bum with solution and then wipe. I've never used a wipe warmer on cltoh or sposie wipes. He didn't seem to mind the cloth wipes until the last month or so. But, he really seemed to dig the Mustela wipes the last 2 times I used them on yucky poos. I might try adding some more oil to the solution before I totally give up. I use the California Baby solution diluted as per the directions. Why did he have todecide he doesn't like it?
When you wiped him were you just using whatever side you grabbed first? I would try just the velour sides only and see if it helps.
Try getting the wipe itsself wet and see if that helps.

Some babies HATE to be sprayed, especially if the solution isn't warmed. Maybe that's the problem?

Boo hated being sprayed, but never complained when I used a prewetted wipe on him. And Bug can't tolerate more than 1 or 2 drops of TTO in our wipes solution or she gets irritated.

ITA!
We use prewetted velour/sherpa wipes and they are sooooooo soft. Much nicer than sposie wipes IMO.

When Nitara's rash is at its worst I use a wipes warmer to keep them in so they are soothing to the rash when I wipe. I use 2 squirts of Johnson's babywash with moisturizer as the wipe solution b/c it has a neutral pH and won't sting raw skin. I have tried other more natural things in the solution but they irritate her (or I'm allergic to them).
