I met the *most* ignorant woman today...

I'm taking a class this summer, and today I was talking with another student over lunch. She's an older woman, maybe 50ish (not old, just older than me!) and had overheard me last week talking about my weird AP habits like no vax etc. , and started to ask me questions about things. (I'm pretty sure she thought I was a lunatic or moron and knew nothing about these things.) I mentioned that I had a homebirth with my newish son, and she exclaimed

Oh my Gd! Did you do his circumcision at home too? How awful, a doctor should do that!

When I explained that we don't circ, she rolled her eyes and said "Figures you wouldn't believe in that either"
: She left before I could start into my rant about circ... I need to make a tshirt before next week with INTACTIVIST across the front, so I get lots of questions....

I really liked the 'Penis Protector' idea from the other thread too. Good ideas ladies!

She's right though you really shouldn't circ your son yourself, (I am between laughing and yelling at this ignorance) or AT ALL for that matter.
Good grief.

Reminds me of a question asked me when an acquaintance found out I was planning a home birth after my first was born by c-section. "You're having your c-section at home?!"

So much ignorance, so little time.
