Hey mamas,

I am in the middle of a crisis of sorts. I have been trying to go organic and I had dh on board until he started "hearing" the organics were no better for you than regular foods and he is now trying to tell me not to buy them. He says that some studies show that organics can actually be bad for you. ????

He wants me to produce some documentation/articles/etc. about organics and the benefits they can have on people who eat them. My main fight is for dairy, with all the hormones and antibiotics. But I would love to start buying organic produce and free range meats and poultry.

I would search for myself, but we are living with MIL while we find a house (just moved to TN. last week) and she has only dial up service to the internet with 10 hours a month. I feel it would take me forever on my own. If anyone has any sort of resources that they could direct me to, PLEASE post to this thread or PM me, I would SO appreciate it!!! TIA and thanks for reading this far, I know I'm a big dork!!

Lots of info and studies and links on organic, gmo, hormones, etc.

Where on earth could he have heard that organic produce is bad for you?

Maybe that horrible news report (read about it in the book "Toxic Sludge is good for you") in which reporters said that organic food was dangerous because of bacteria and that it wasn't more healthy, blah blah blah. Turns out all of that was wrong, the opposite is true, and the story was retracted, days later, when noone was watching. Turns out the pesticide industries had a BIG hand in forcing the firing of the reporters who had found the truth, and forced a non-true PR report to be shown instead.

I just read a really interesting article in this month's Mother Earth News about how organic food is much higher in nurients than commercially grown foods, including fruit, veggies, and eggs. Gives actual numbers. It's the June/July issue.

I am going to the website now, and where can I get a copy of Mother Earth News? Is that something I could get at Barnes & Noble or would I find it at a co-op? TIA, off to organicconsumers.org!

I've seen it at my health food store and I would imagine B&N would have it too.
