I am 27 1/2 wks pg with my 3rd baby and I don't recall having loose stools constantly this early in the 3rd trimester. I know that loose stools CAN be a possible sign of impending labor, but I want to know if anyone else has had experience with this sort of thing.

Just as an aside, I will be seeing my mw tomorrow, I just want some idea as to what I might be going through before I see her. TIA

No advice, but I'm about where you are in pregnancy. I think I'm 26 weeks, but I'm terrible at keeping track. Anyway, I've had "diarrhea" all week now. I have that in quotes because I feel fine and I'm not going 5 times or more a day. I'm going like 3 times a day and it's very loose. I've been hoping it waws just the stress I've been under (we just moved a week ago and dh left for a week on Sun.), but it doesn't seem to be going away. I'm still hoping it's a mild bug or something and will go away soon! I sure hope it's not going to be like this till the end of my pregnancy! Good luck! Let me know what your mw says!

I am about 30 weeks and am having the same problems. I don't remember this happening so early with my daughter, it happened a week or two before birth. It's about 3 or so times a day and I'm pretty sure I'm not sick or anything. I suspect that it might be dairy, I'm not lactose intolerant but it does seem to affect my stomach occasionally and I think with the pregnancy and extra hormones that could be it but am not sure. I should ask my MW, it's been over a week that I've had it but I dont' want to make a fuss since I don't feel sick. Wondered if you ever found out anything?

I'm 29 weeks and this just started for me a few days ago as well. I will ask my mw about it when I see her next week, but I'll keep checking in to see if anyone else has any more insight into this.

Are you taking prenatals?
My midwife has me taking prenatals, and the ones she has me on, she wants me to take 6 a day. She started me out taking two, and told me to slowly work my way to 6. She did warn me that taking too many [which for some women could be even three...that's why she wanted it gradual] would cause loose stools.

Have you changed your diet?

I think it's pretty normal to have your bowel movements change during pregnancy. I've actually had a couple of episodes of someting similar, and thought the same thing [labor!] but it turned out to be nothing at all.

Hope your midwife can give you the answers you're looking for!!

I am taking prenatals but have since the beginning. No new foods or vitamins in my diet. I think that it may just be another pregnancy change but you always get that feeling that something may be wrong and you are missing it. I didn't have his happen with my first so I thought it was worth checking into. I see my mw in a little over a week and I can double check with her.
