I've been in early labor all freaking week. My old midwife was kind enough today to sweep my membranes for me and right away I felt like now it's going to be soon. I'm dialated, effaced, and feeling ready to pop. But I'm terrified! I'm panicky, shaking, and really nervous right now knowing what's coming. I don't even have an ob or a midwife, so lord only knows what will happen at the hospital. If this were going to be my baby, I would just do a uc. But that's not how it is, so anyway....wish me luck tonight!!!

I guess I'm more panicked about having done nothing to prepare for this. Not one hypno class, not once did I work on some meditations, I don't even have my bag packed yet. I did this last time also, you think I'd know better by now. But the baby made it out last time and I did really well. So I figure I'll do good again and even if I can't do a homebirth, I can at least do another med/drug free birth.

Just try to relax. Remember that you can make it. You have a wonderful woman to help you through it! While you still have pre hospital time pack a bag, and some snacks to sneak in, kick up your feet and try to relax. Listen to me the lady due in 4 days telling another mom to relax.. hehe You'll do fabulous!

A was at my 3rd birth & she's awesome labor support, she was also around through my pre-labor with my 4th. I am so excited to meet this baby. Sending plenty of prayers/thoughts & waiting on a phone call from A & P - and i'm totally excited that my birthday prediction might be right on unless things go quick for you
HA.

Blessings Melaya, you'll do wonderfully. Just remember that sometimes, laboring alone is the best option (lock yourself into the bathroom and set up labor camp - aromatherapy or a candle, running water or music). Focus on the miracle of being able to let your baby and body run things while you stay out of the way, watch and just go along for the ride. Your body knows how to do this and it will... your baby is brilliant and was made to do this and will do wonderfully - just focus on peaceful relaxation and letting your body do the work and you'll have that Bean on the outside in a short time.

Let others worry about the hospital - any support people you have, or make it brief in the telling when you go - I imagine they will have some grace for your situation.

Blessings.

Good luck Melaya. You'll do wonderfully! I really think it's normal to have a few minutes of being afraid. I was afraid the other night when I was sick - Oh no, what did I get myself into - this is going to hurt. But you're going to do great. You are a strong woman and your body knows what to do. I'll be thinking about you tonight.

You'll do great...I can tell from the way you write about this that you are strong enough to have the birth you want. Deep down, I bet even the fiercest, strongest woman among us is still a little scared going into labor. Good luck!!

I ate a snack and I already feel a lot better. I hadn't eaten all day, so maybe my being shaky and "scared" was mostly hunger? Anyway, I'm procrastinating again. So much to do and maybe not so much time to do it in. Thanks so much for the positive thoughts. It means more than you'll probably ever know.

Stop and go, things keeps getting slowly worse. Good grief, my last labor was so fast. So this labor is really surprising me and annoying me. Things are progressing, but I wish it would go quicker. I just want to be done with this already. Today is the 5th though, my mom and all of my sisters were all born on the 5th. So it would make sense that she waited for today to be "it". I guess I'll go back to walking and using the pump.
