There was a woman in my expecting club for my 2nd child who had her baby at 43w+5. Everything was perfect and she had her baby at home! It's anecdotal, but hope it helps.

I also just had a doula client who had her baby at 41w+3. They had threatened induction more than once, she held her ground and had a lovely birth. The catalyst for her seemed to be sending her "audience" home. Once the company left, her ctx started that evening! I honestly believed that she had lost totaly faith in her ability to birth naturally. But, she did it!

Good luck to you!

Don't feel alone! It's a beautiful Saturday...probably not too many people are online. I had my son at 41w6d. My water broke at 2:30am...5 hours before I was due at the hospital for my induction :LOL....I always joke that it took a threatened eviction to get my labor going

Just remember...your baby will be born on her birthday...your baby will be born on her birthday...

Ah don't feel lonely! I have had 5 - count them 5 - pg go to 42 weeks. 2 went to 42 weeks 2 days. I have had 5 healthy babies, between 7lbs and 9 lbs, most were short labors (5 hours and under). Your body knows what its doing. Don't listen to all the hype about being post dates. True post dates is really rare and can be seen before a woman is even post dates! Just like every woman starts menses at different ages so do they gestate for different lengths of time.

Its ok to cry! Its what kicked labor into gear for me with #5 actually. I'm not a crier normally but I was just really upset to be having contractions all the time that weren't doing anything and just about broke down. Immediatly contractions kicked it up a notch and I had the baby 4 hours later! Keeping yourself busy is also very helpful. Turn off the ringer on your phone and put a message on your machine that says you are spending some time preparing for the baby, you will call everyone back once the baby arrives. Always stay busy so your mind isn't on the labor thing. The last weeks are the hardest but its the last time you will have the baby all to yourself. Try to enjoy the time.

I have known several people who had babies at 42 weeks, healthy babies at 42 weeks, and were glad they waited for their baby and their body to be ready.

Lots of inspirational stories that hopefully will strengthen your belief that your body and baby know what they are doing.

s to you as you wait.

hi hon, I am still here with ya...

41 weeks 1 day now....

I don't have any wonderful stories but my mom did go 13 days over with her first (my brother) and she was pretty sure of dates....so that was almost 42 weeks... she had him completely natural (well with the help of a bit of gas at the end) ... but she was fine...

I keep telling myself maybe I am taking after her...

*sigh*

Hang in there... I am with you....

*hugs*
