I need some kind of challenge this month to help me curb my spending. Any fun ideas would be appreciated

Maybe we could start with one month? Six months seems a bit scary for me, especially since I have just one ds and sometimes it's hard to pass up Target clearance! Of course, we are now on the rice and beans wagon, so Target is too expensivefor us!

How about one spending day a week for groceries, one a month for bigger target items like clothing.

Make lists for what you need, track spending.
Then next month see if you can spend less...

I am trying this as dh's paycheque is the 1st of the month goes quickly, but the 15th is for small bills, spending so I am trying to make lists and get the bigger items then, also eliminates the i could put that on my credit card feeling!
Dh and I decided to go one month buying nothing but groc. and toiletries, like the article said (I can't believe USA Today had an article worth reading!
)

We are also not going to use our dryer at all....just the clothesline.

Anyone want to join us?

I have been tracking my spending which is why I know I need to cut back
Having one day to do stuff is a good idea. I am really trying to get the grocery shopping to every two weeks but so far no luck. One day a month for other spending sound like a great idea. Now I just need to pick a day

Petersmamma - I can try the groceries and toiletries, but I
my dryer. I will have to work up to that one. Maybe when the weather is a bit nicer here. Still pretty rainy/snowy/cold

Thanks for the great ideas!
