i'm pretty sure my husband had this when we met (aggrivating cough that lasts for months.. not really sick... no fever or anything.. just that dang cough that never goes away) which was 7 years ago. and i thinkl we have it now.. but i'm not sure.

it started with the girls (5 years and 13 monts) coughing for about four hours after they went to bed.. usually until they vommited and then they could sleep a little while and the coughing would start again. That's been going on about two weeks. My 5 year old looks a little tired and run down, but no fever, says her throat doesn't hurt etc.. and she coughs a lot when she gets worked up from playing or crying. The 13 month old is cutting her first (yes.. FIRST tooth) so she's cranky all the time anyway so it's hard to tell if she's sick or jsut teething but she does do a lot of coughing at night. Now my husband i and i have it and i feel pretty icky..scratchy dry throat.. but not much coughing.. yet.. but once i get started, i feel like i cannot stop. comes in waves.

anybody want to wager a guess if this is pertussis?
i've been taking some sa, but my husband refuses because even a tiny tiny pinch sends him running to the bathroom and gives him horrible cramps. i've been adding a little to the girl's water but the youngest gets so gassy and in such horrible pain that i cringe every time i give her any because i know it'll cause her pain (and we're talking tiny tiny amounts.. like a half a pinch)

soooooo.. hoping to find a thread on how to treat whooping cough so maybe we can all get more sleep. i swear if i wasn't up with the girl's all night and living on less than two hours of sleep a night, i wouldn't get sick. i'm always fine if i can convice my husband to get up with them but the first time that i lose sleep... i get sick.

anyway, thanks for any help!!

IIRC there is a thread in Health & Healing. I'm also going to move this thread over there, hopefully you'll get some answers
