I just got off the phone with one of DH's cousins, who's expecting #4 in Feb, but not finding out what it is til birth. She mentioned saving up for the circ and I, very slyly, said that "you know, those aren't really necessary" and she was worried about the infection thing, and I countered with it....I'll be taking anti-circumcision info to her this weekend....which means I actually have to research it. I circ'ed my first 2 boys but didn't with my 3rd solely because it's just not needed, so I don't know any statistics or anything. Guess I'll be hanging out here for a few days! Anyone able to direct me to mainstream anti-circ sources would be appreciated. I couldn't win against vaccines with this family, but I'm sure going to give not circing with them a shot!

These are a couple "mainstream" possibilities: Dr. Sears is a widely known and respected pediatrician and author, and Men's Health is a credible magazine source. The Men's Health article also has photographs of the procedure, which have made a big difference for many who have no idea of what a circumcision really entails, especially good for husbands who may not be into reading a lot - has a strong visual impact.
