I really DO wanna nest!

I have the nesting bug so badly. If you don't count the little messes the kids make at any moment that require cleaning up, my house is the cleanest/neatest it's been in a while... I'm actually keeping up on things that I normally let slide, like mopping (I'm famous for the wet rag under a foot quickie cleanup). My problem is, I keep doing too much and then when I go to bed I can hardly walk.

Seriously, I'm feeling great except for when I do too much... and I thought I had figured out how much was too much but then my body went and changed it's mind! Yesterday I just helped the kids pick up toys, swept and mopped the wood/tile floors, vacuumed the one room with carpet... and I could hardly walk at bedtime. I didn't even cook dinner, dh did! He woke up at my 4am potty break to see me hanging onto the wall to get to the bathroom.

Sheesh.
: I have the motivation at least, I guess that counts for something? The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak! LOL

YOu are way ahead of me then! I just want to sleep-and come here to read what everyone else is doing. I am managing to do laundry again today and I mopped the kitchen yesterday. schoolwork is sorta getting done and thats about it. I am seriously considering just calling off school for the rest of the year until August. I am sooo lazy feeling.
I do breaks all day. 45 minutes of stuff and then 1 hour of eating/resting. I don't get as much done, but I get some and I don't feel like a total slug. Also, I made a priority list of what I want to do so important stuff like dishes and laundry get at least somewhat done and I'm not scrounging for comfortable clothes or depressed every time I go to the kitchen.
I am TOTALLY in crazy nesting mode!!

I just finished cleaning out two drawers in my upstairs bathroom (amazing the crap that I had accumulated in there)!! Ahhhh....feels SO good.

DD is sleeping and normally I take a nap with her (otherwise I am sound asleep on the couch by 7 p.m. and barely even get to say hello to my DH) but today I am giving up my nap to clean, clean, clean!!!

Every time I see clutter I get a panicky feeling that I'm going to go into labor NOW and have to come home to a crazy messy house with a new baby and a toddler. *Shudder.*

Well, I've gone the whole other way today- haven't done crap basically.
Dishes are piled up but the thought of standing in front of the sink just makes my hips ache so badly. Darnit, I'm supposed to cook dinner tonight while my dad and dh work on the new bathroom (I want a real shower again!). We might have to burn some plastic ordering pizza or something.
:

Kristi- shame on your mom! Especially when you're on bedrest.

I manged to accomplish something today!!! I put my winter clothes in the attic-so now I can at least find all my summer clothes that I am sure won't fit me for a while.whew! Now I am tired though LOL!

I can empathize! This pregnancy is soooo different than my first. The pelvic pressure is outrageous. Just a few simple chores and it feels like I ran a marathon or something! Yesterday we went to Target, interviewed a ped. that is HB friendly, had lunch and then went to grocery store. By the time I got home and unloaded groceries, I had to sit on the couch for 1 1/2 hrs and completely do NOTHING! Dinner needed to be cooked (pb and J is what ended up happening LOL), and toys needed to be picked up from living room - but it didn't happen!

I really am trying to take it easy...but between chasing an almost 3 yr old, keeping house "clean" and cooking/cleaning up for meals, and trying to nest here and there...it reallytakes a toll. Hmmmm....I wonder if being 34 has anything to do with it! LOL.

I have decided to let some things go tho. Not everything on my before baby list is getting done...and you know what? I am OK with that. I know that after baby is here it probably wont' matter anyway! KWIM?

I went into a cooking craze for awhile where I was making ALL kinds of stuff but now I'm just making dinners. (and my cheesecake pie..gotta have it!) Nothing too fancy either, I'm kinda sick of cooking for the moment. As far as cleaning goes, I think I've been nesting for months now. Hehehe. Sure, I have my days where I don't feel like doing much but other than that, I'm on top of everything. Mopping/bathrooms/laundry/etc. I just can't stand it when things are dirty. (call me pregnant, hehehe) I'm just waiting to order everything else that I need so I can get things cleaned and put away and I'm good to go. There's just something about being pregnant and knowing you have things that need to get done that you can't do right away....drives me bonkers!
I was totally going to come and start a thread about my out of control nesting. In the past week or so i've cleaned out our pantry (just a few roll out drawers in a cabinet, but still- it involved taking everything out and vacuuming and then putting back in), cleaned out our entryway closet, mopped the kitchen and bathroom floors (*not* a frequent occurance!) and in general have been noticing all the dirt and grime and clutter that i normally gloss over...

and then there are the projects...

i'm desperate to paint a wall in our livingroom and kitchen, get a new rug for dd's room, get drawer organizers for my socks/underwear/bras, sew new cushion covers for my glider, the list goes on and on... unfortunately, we also have property taxes due that are pre-empting any house project funds

and then there's gardening...though the 3 inches of wet snow we got yesterday put a damper on that.

LOL! Me too. I went on an insane cleaning spree on Tuesday where I got the biggest deep cleany type stuff on my list done and the backs of my legs are still sore as anything. I do feel better though!

Are you serious, Kristi? I can't believe that!! My mom came up and stayed at a hotel so that it would be easier for me and is debating a hotel to crash at after the babes come so that I won't have someone else living at the house.

On a better note, I got all the clothing washed and we finally got our new sofa cushions in the living room! That means the sofa upstairs is available for when I can't get comfortable in bed! Woo Hoo!!
Not cool about mom;s coming to be waited upon. My MIL is coming over on Saturday to paint my bathroom. She already painted the "nursery" with DH. That one was her choice--I warned 'em that it won't get used much for a year or two.

It's nothing compared to bedrest, but my nesty urges are being frustrated by a head/chest cold and finals. It's been nearly a week--I just feel like I can't beat this cold bc I can't get any sleep. Always so tired!

But DH washed a bunch of baby clothes today from the shower last weekend and put them away. He is my unemployed saviour! All my nesting this week is being done vicariously through DH.

Sounds like I'm not the only one! Well, yesterday I was too darned pooped to do much of anything... I did finally wash the dishes (I totally hate having dishes in the sink cause if there are dishes in the sink, dh doesn't rinse and just stacks them.
) but we ended up having my parents over and ordering pizza.
After dinner I parked my butt on the couch and knit another womb, this one is for my midwife, I'm going to give it to her when I give her the birth fee.

Today I'm going to a little shop in the middle of nowhere with my mom and then I'll probably make dinner but the only "chore" I'm feeling the need to do is dusting, my very least favorite!

I tend to be a neat freak anyway, but combined with this insane nesting urge and my slob family- it's bad!

I want to nest too! My new thing is to set the timer on the stove for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes of cleaning, i have to sit down, have a drink of water, let the B/H contractions slow down and relax. Yesterday, my SIL and I went on a one-day trip to Ikea and the diaper store which meant 8 hours total in the car and several hours of shopping to get furniture and supplies for the baby and now I am so very, very exhausted.

Today my goal is to get the dishwasher loaded and pack all of baby's clothes into her snazzy new dresser/change table. Oh, and because it is warm I might give the NB diapers a wash and hang them on the line.

the womb!!

Do you have a pattern posted on your blog, or can i get ahold of it?

Today i ran around trying to round up the rest of the items for our birth kit- i'm finally getting to the logistical necessities. Once dh finishes our new front steps and dials out dd's closet, then i get to do the fun stuff- baby clothes!! but i refuse to bring them up from the basement until i have a place to put them (currently dd's dresser which is the changing table from when she was a baby). course, i know that they'll be strewn all over the house and put on dollies and bears bute...
: oh well.

Well, I got the babies' bag packed for the hospital and the diaper bag packed (minus the wipe solution). So that is done. All their clothing is washed and put away and I even organized the "too big" stuff so that the 3 month stuff is at the top and the 18 month stuff is at the bottom. Sunday dh swears he is painting in the morning (friend coming at 9 to help) and then in the afternoon we are going to buy a dresser to use as a changing table. That means next week the dipes will get put away and I am as done as I need to be. Then I just need to work on finishing the baby books and thank you notes.

Kelly- it's this pattern: http://knitty.com/ISSUEwinter04/PATTwomb.html I actually had to knit the womb part flat (see the author's blog for knit flat instructions) but I did the fallopian tubes in i-cord as in the original pattern. I just cannot knit on DPNs to save my life, I need to find someone to give me an IRL tutorial.
: I couldn't find the recommended yarn anywhere, even online so I used the alternate suggested yarn...
