I should stop weighing daily

Then I wouldn't know that I gained 2 lbs in one day.
WTH? It seemed to take me forever to gain with my DD, but I'm already up 10 lbs at 15 weeks with this one. I'm not eating so terribly much and it's mostly healthy stuff, but I'm not getting much exercise this time. But still, 2 lbs in one day?! It must be bloating.

So how much have you gained?

You know I weigh daily too, I'm kind of obsessed. I've had a lot of fluctuation, maybe it's just an upward swing for now but will come back in a few days. I'm sure you are beautiful even with the extra!

I was up 10 lbs. at 10 weeks with my second!
I was up 7 lbs. at 13w2d. I'm 14w5d now but I doubt I've gained since then because I had a stomach bug, and haven't had much appetite. I'd rather be fat than sick!
I gained 40 lbs. with my first and 50 with my second, am hoping for 30-35 this time but I'll gain as much as I need.
I don't own a scale so it'll be my appointment on 2/17 that gives me how much I've gained.

I had lost 4 lbs before my first appointment and another pound on top of that before my second - but I have a feeling I'm going to be welcoming those pounds back when I step on that scale!
I've been weighing weekly and taking some measurements. I'm 13w2d and up about a pound and a half. It's less than my first pregnancy and about the same as my second. With those, I dropped some in the early weeks and then gained it back. This time, I gained a few over the holidays then lost it again. I was completely steady between 4 and 10 weeks and recently went up a little. I usually gain 20 lbs between weeks 20-30 (although that period was Nov-Jan with my other pregnancies) and a total of 30-35 lbs. I'd like to be on the lower end of that this time because I felt so much better in my pregnancy with less gain -- the other time it was hard going up stairs and moving around at all. I'm glad the second half of pregnancy will be when it's nice outside for that reason.
Remember than weight fluctuates wildly based on whether you've eaten, peed, pooped, drank, WHATEVER differently than the last time you weighed yourself. It's not like you're fluctuating actual MASS that fast.

I gained 35 pounds last time, just about dead on a pound a week, from really early on through about 35 weeks, hitting 195 max.

My starting weight was maybe 4 pounds heavier this time than last time. 160 vs 164. I'm just over 13 weeks now, and at 170 this morning. So 6 pounds gain, so far, but less than last time...I would have been about 173 now last time (so I've gained less, and my total weight is slightly less).

I'm curious if I'll wind up any different this time. I'm comparing absolute weight more than gain, in my mind. And I don't really care...I'm just fascinated by what happens to a body during this weird and wacky process.

why do we do that haha. I mean really our weight is going to go up, we know that, and as long as we don't eat everything in sight it won't be too bad... but man it's so tempting to step on the scale at home
I like to weigh myself first thing in the morning after I pee because that's when it's the lowest of the day!
I've gained about 5 lbs. this pregnancy and I had gained 10-15 by this point with my DD.

I'm really glad I've been better about eating this time. Hopefully I won't look quite as big in the face toward the end. I'm in my sister's wedding in June and would like to be one of those cute pregnant women that just looks like they have a belly!
At least my older sister who is also in the wedding is only 3 weeks behind me, so we can be matching whales in our dresses.

I've gained in between 40-50 lbs with each and it's all come off eventually, so I'm not too worried. Although, I did go into this preg differently because med-induced weight gain last summer and then a misscarriage in Sept. So I'm starting at 140lbs instead of the customary 125-30. I don't own a scale either (bad, bad things for me psychologically--or they used to be!) so I won't know til Wed what's goin on. I eat well, I don't stress it much. (BUT! I don't like being so big towards the end--big babies, lots of fluid in a short torso, it all pokes out)

I weigh myself every few days. I'm about a pound below my starting weight. By this point in my pregnancy with my daughter I was significantly lower because I was super sick. I'm just grateful I'm not sick.

My EDD is Aug. 1, and thus far I've gained zilch. I consider this a great thing for two reasons. 1) I started this pg overweight because of a medication I was taking and 2) By this stage in my pg with DS I had LOST thirty pounds due to Hyperemesis Gravidarium and am so grateful to not have had such severe sickness this time around.

HA! I was back down 2.5 pounds this morning. That's it! I'm not doing this everyday anymore. Maybe once a week. Or no more than every two days, anyway.

I would take your 10 lbs in a heartbeat! I've been so sick this time around that I'm actually DOWN almost 10 lbs, which makes everybody concerned as I didn't have much extra to start out. So there is all this talk about medication (which I put a stop to by saying I would try acupuncture and swearing to eat ice cream every day.) I'd rather be packing on the pounds than worrying that I'm messing with my health or the health of the baby because losing weight is a sign of insufficent nutrition. Sigh.

Just goes to show that nobody should weigh themselves every day. No matter what it says it just makes us crazy!
Non-preggo I'm a daily weigher (bad I know!) and I've quit for now. I usually gain 1 or 2 lbs. in the first tri and I'm up to 8 or 9 at 14 weeks. I will admit that I haven't been watching my diet as closely as I should be. Like those 6 cookies I ate today

Oh, you're totally right. I'd much rather be in my shoes than yours. I'm sorry it's been so rough for you

i'm up 7lbs at 11 weeks! i think it's from all of the eating i did to stop feeling sea sick...
I have been eating like crap. I smoked, bad habit, I know but it's been 15 years or so, and I just never seem to fully kick it. Anyway, I obviously quit smoking when I, suprise, found out I was pregnant. I feel like I am eating to make up for losing smoking and eating because I'm hungey or sick feeling. I have not gained very much up until now, but this morning I was pretty high. I have not been weighing everyday, but I am going to start so I can obsess and drive myself crazy on a daily basis. Plus, i will start eating better. I just finished off a bag of reese's pieces so I wont have that temptation anymore.

I've got you all beat
- I've gained 12 pounds already. I'll be 13 weeks in 2 days. I pretty much ate whatever I wanted, to deal with morning sickness in the first several weeks, and just got on a roll. It's time to cut that out so I am no longer eating sweets or anything fried!

I gained 57 pounds with each of my 2 previous pregnancies (lots of it water weight). It took me a year and a half to lose the weight with my first daughter. I lost 37 of the 57 pounds in a year and three months with my second daughter (who is now 18 mos.)

So I still had 20 left to lose when I got pregnant again. Sigh. Now if I gain 57 pounds again (seems likely at this rate!) I will be the hugest blob everseen in my mirror!
So I gotta get it under control. I rarely weigh, but I'm thinking I need to, maybe twice a week? Ugh.
