So for DS I basically didn't have to buy any cloths for him until he was a year old (all due to a baby shower and a cousin who had a son 3months before me). Anyways this year I have a DD, I have all home cloths from DS (sleepers, onsies, ect...) but no going out cloths. So I decided to go baby thrifting. I think I got a good deal as I never had to buy new baby cloths but the prices I see in some stores I think I did ok...

I got 6 two piece outfits,
6 dresses,
6 going out tops,
2 pants,
3 sweaters
1 one piece thing (not sure what to call it, has a hoody attach to it also)
1 church dress (that came w/ a cute hat)

These cloths look brand new and some come from places like 'The children Place', 'Just one year', 'A Child Place(?), baby gap, and other names I don't know (I didn't know there was a Sesame Street brand - that one is the church dress).

All for about $65 (including tax)...It at first seem like a lot to me but when I really look at how much these things would cost, I starting feeling better.

I think right now I just want a few more pants and skirts (maybe 3 of each). I had to stop myself from shopping. I told myself I needed to come home look over what I got and then decided if I really needed anything more.

Just thought I would share w/ like minded folks.

I tried getting some from Freecylce but guess I am always too slow to catch them when they first come out.

Sounds like you did great - that works out to a little over $2.00 per piece. I find I have to stop myself from buying too much at the thrift store since it's so cheap - but buying more than I need kind of negates the savings. I do tend to buy ahead at the thrift store (and good sales at retail shops) so i have a few bins of bigger sizes. I really don't need to buy anything else for DD for at least 2 years...but I probably will anyway!

I live in a city and we get the best prices at yard sales. It is trendy to thrift shop here, so the prices are really high.

It sounds like you did good!!! You would pay an average of $20-25 per outfit new...
