What do I need? How can I teach myself? I admire those mamas who knit and I am dying to learn. I want to be able to knit hats for my boys by winter. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Two books got me going. Both should be available at the library--by interlibrary loan if nothing else:

I used the "I Taught Myself How To Knit" book.... I am thinking of getting it for crochet because I refuse to be defeated by it.

I liked it. I also bought a video, but didn't like it.

There is also a cool CDRom available at different stores....I can't remember the name of it,but I want to say it is affiliated with Red Heart?
