I was on my way to pick up dh at the airport, I had both kids with me. Of course it was approaching bedtime and since we weren't going to be getting out of the car they were both in their pjs. No shoes. Dd was in a nightgown. Its about 50 degrees here. We are all fine, thank goodness.

There was a turn lane that had two cars turing into separate driveways. I was coming from the other direction at about 50 miles. The front car was waiting for me to pass when the in back car turned, or tried to turn, into the driveway. I was able to slow down some before I hit him but we were probably still going between 20-30 miles/hr. He was a young kid, maybe 16-17 years old on his way to a high school party. He was shell shocked. I think he almost fell over when he saw that I was pg. The couple that was in the front car were witnesses and were absolutely wonderful. We had to wait for the police and they brought blankets and snacks for the kids and helped me with them as I dealt with the police. My sister ended up getting my dh and they actually made it to the scene before the police finished up. The kids are fine. A little scared at first but were running around in no time. I feel okay now but I think I will be sore tomorrow. I don't remember the belt hitting my stomach so hopefully it was low enough not to cause any problems. And the air bag didn't go off which makes me think I slowed quite a bit.

I have never been in an accident with the kids. Its nice to know those car seats/seat belts worked. It would have been MUCH worse if they were not wearing their belts. Going from 50 to stopping in a matter of seconds would have gotten really ugly! Just a public service reminder to everyone .

Oh jeez, that's scary!! I'm so glad that you & all your kids (fetus included!) are fine. Man I'd feel so shaken up I think I'd be nervous driving for awhile...

I am so glad everyone is okay! Getting into a car accident one of my biggest fears this pregnancy-- especially since we live in the boonies, and it could be several minutes before someone found us! Did you see your practitioner? I would have been in the Dr.'s office (ER) immediately,(even for just a fender bender) but I think I am just paranoid
