I believe this now ... Every pup i touch seems to get sick. I have dealt with my share of parvo and coccida in the past. The only reason i adopted this pup that i did was because she had EVERYTHING she needed vax wise and it would lessen her chance of parvo (i had parvo here back several months ago). Well i am really praying it is just coccidia but my baby is sick. She had some blood in her stool which i chalked up to stress, worming and such ... because she had all her meds the day she got here. I gave canned pumpkin and it seemed to go away and stiffin up ... Well last night i new soemthing was not right. And sure enough she would not eat and now has a stinky poop ... which could be either. I had some subQ fluids here from when i did the rescue and i gave her some and some immune boosters until i can get her in to the doc today. Augh .... please keep baby Shawnee in your thoughts ...

Oh no....<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/gloomy.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Gloomy">:<br><br>
Sending your puppy some hugs. I am so sorry that he's sick, and hope that it's something simple to deal with.<br><br>
Incidentally, I too can relate to the feeling that being involved with animals in a certain way is something that you are "meant" to do. It almost feels like I am putting a piece of the puzzle together when I'm active with the kitties.<br><br><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/hug.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="hug"> to you and puppy.

There are major rumors in the show dog community about a strain of parvo that is showing up in vaccinated dogs. I don't know if it's been confirmed by the vet schools, but there have been some major illness outbreaks lately. Tamiflu is pulling a lot of dogs through.

Well it is Parvo ... <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad">(<br><br>
I am so sad ... THe only lucky thing out of all of this is that she has insurance so the insurance will cover the whole bill except for $0.09 ...<br><br>
)Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers ... also ... i am again at odds with my vets office manager ... i cant stand this lady and I am going to tell the vet today what she did.<br><br>
I dropped off Shawnee this morning and then went to the store because the doc was not in and would not be in forawhile. So i called them and asked what was going on and the Office Manager got on the phone and started yelling at me that she could not give me any information that it was against the law ... blah blh blah ... I said she is my dog i can find out what is up ... She goes no she is the rescues. I said no I am talking about Shawnee and she was like hold on ... She gets on the phone and starts apologizing to me ... she thought i was checking on a rescue dog (which btw I did try to donate a coupon last week to this rescue dog (10% off her $900 vet bill) but they would not let me ... She is just always rude and abrupt with me and it pisses me off to no end. I have spent alot of money at this office (probably $3500 this year alone) so i think at the very least she could be nice to me.

Oh no, sending your puppy some prayers. Hopefully catching it early will mean that he makes it through everything OK. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/hug.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="hug">

I miss that lil sweetie ... I sure hope that she pulls through this. I am still waiting on a call from the Vet. I did talk to the Office Manager (which was VERY nice to me) this afternon and she confirmed the insurance will pay for all her care and that she was resting and had started fluids and all her meds ... I wish i could be there for her. It is so sad not being able to be there for her. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"> I would love to visit but with the kids not being in school until tuesday it would be alot on her for us to visit. Not to mention ... i am not even sure if they would let us visit. Anyway, I am also praying that Memphis does not get this. He is only 6 months. He has had all his shots and a Booster so he *should* be fine ...

I had a puppy who had parvo when I was 14. She made it through. Here's hoping yours will too.
