I actually yelled at them because I could not believe the words coming out of their mouths. Calling my son and his friend f-ing re-****s, that they are stupid pieces of c**p, and other horrible things. These kids ranged from ages 5-12! I do not normally discipline other people's kids, but I could not even hold myself back. I straight up said that that language is horrible and that I do not want to ever hear those things said in my yard. Gawh!!!

Good for you! I have corrected other peoples children when their behavior isn't up to par and would appreciate someone correcting my dd. I believe it can and should be done in an appropriate way.<br><br>
I was walking home from a friends house with my dd one evening. A group of maybe 8 kids, about 12 years old or so, were walking past us and the language was soooo bad. So I said something...'Hey, enough of the swearing guys. What would your mother's say if they heard you? Enough.'<br>
I got polite responses back...'yes ma'am, so sorry', etc

Dh kicked a couple of ds1's friends out of our house because after telling them to get off the loft bed (because they were being destuctive) the younger one (11) saidto his older brother (13) "He said to get your stinking a**hole off the bed." Dh barged in and told them to get out, that kind of language is not tolerable in our house. They've not been back since (which is okay with me, they were annoying and loud anyway.)

Kid or adult I would have made them leave.. we had something similar just recently with a dear friends girlfriend calling my dd a name.<br><br>

I have asked grown men to tone down the language in a parking lot when I was getting my kids out of the vehicle. They couldn't see the kids from where they were parked but it doesn't matter, language like that is not for public use - even if you are a construction worker standing around your work truck with your co-workers.
