Dh and I had this discussion when I was pregnant with DD. He said he didn't want his son to wonder why they looked different, so he wanted the baby circ'ed if a boy. Lucky for me, she was a girl. I was never happy with this decision, but I figured that I don't have a penis, so who am I to make this decision.

We found out at 19 weeks that this baby was indeed a boy. Not wanting to create a big confrontation, I e-mailed DH some links (mostly from the Mothering website). I asked him to read them, and if he still felt strongly about having our son circ'ed, I would concede.

Now we are almost 37 weeks, and last I heard from DH, he was considering skipping circ. I asked him last night for a final decision (since we are getting down to the end). His response was, "I thought we already agreed not to do it?"

Yeah for me and our son! My mom left the decision up to my step-father when my brother was born. He was circ'ed and my mom was never happy with that. I am so blessed to have a husband that is open to educating himself for the sake of our family!

Sorry for the long story. I am just so excited, I had to share!

Peace
Jen

That is awesome news!! DH and I had the big circ debate at the begining of this pregnancy and I won too
The final straw for DH is when I made him watch Pen and Teller's Bull S*** on Circumcision and they showed a baby pretty much getting circ'd. Even if we didn't agree I still wouldn't have done it anyway. Even our ped doesn't reccomend circ!

We had the big debate when I was pregnant with DD. I kept leaving articles laying around the house for him to read. He finally conceded when I told him about the board they strap the baby to and that if he wanted his son to be circ. he had to stand there and watch the whole thing. He changed his mind pretty quickly

Yay! Your little baby boy is the winner, he gets to stay the way that Nature and God made him!

It's wonderful to see more and more parents making the decision that it's not their body, not their decision. How hard is it to just leave his body alone? No wounds, no blood or screaming or pain. Yay for your baby boy!

Hugs to your dh for doing nothing, which is doing best for his son!
