My mother's husband had an accident this weekend and crushed one lower vertebrae and broke some other's. He's in surgery right now. Anyone have ideas for something I can send him? I wanted to start making a care box, but I'm not sure what to include. He's seen every movie there is. I was thinking maybe a nice blanket for the hospital, since he'll be there a while. Anything else that might be comforting for a hospital stay? Any ideas to help my Mother?

This is why I don't like living far from family.....it's hard to help when your so far away.

Well, after I had my car accident and surgery to fix my broken wrist and remove my ruptured spleen, my DH and MIL brought me comfy clothes, magazines, books, snacks, toiletries (believe it or not the hospital did not provide them), nail clippers (I was there for 2 weeks), ear plugs because the hospital is LOUD, Oh and slippers and my pillow from home. You need slippers unless you want to walk back and forth to the bathroom on a yucky floor. HTH.

Thank you KMK Mama! He'll be in the hospital for at least a week. Thanks again!
