Hi!
DH and I are TTC so I thought I'd pop in here.

I have quite a bit of pain when I ovulate (sometimes I have to take something for it). It lasts from 2-4 days and it's pretty constant. I've had this for years and it's only when I ovulate so I know that's what it is.

Does the pain mean I'm getting ready to ovulate, am currently ovulating, or already ovulated?? I have copious amounts of ecm at this time as well.

Just really curious about this little detail. Anyone know?

The pain usually means you're currently ovulating. I have it around the time I O, too, and it's usually accompanied by lots of cervical fluid - no EWCM the last few cycles, but it's been creamy/watery.

I have pain, too, only mine lasts for a day.

I've heard that it can mean you are about to O, are Oing, or have already Oed. That helps, right?

I'd say if you are having the pain for 2-4 days, then it means all three for you.

This last cycle I had ovulation pain for days and days! I took clomid, so maybe that intensified it. I imagine the pain to be from the follicles growing, the egg releasing and then the fluid from the follicles around the ovary, irritating it.

So cool that you have had it so reliably! Though it sounds a bit intense!

Have you looked at charts on FF to see how long/when people have ovulation pain relative to their actual ovulation day? That might be interesting.

Also, if you chart, you will be able to tell when the pain is relative to when you are actually ovulating.

No, I haven't looked at the charts, but that's a good idea!
