:LOL That line just sounded funny for some reason. Glad they think men should hug their sons, even if it is for all the wrong reasons. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/angry.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="angry"><br><br><a href="http://sevenoaksmag.com/features/13_gay_conference.html" target="_blank">http://sevenoaksmag.com/features/13_gay_conference.html</a><br><br>
I wonder why they focus mainly on gay men, and not lesbians?

But what if the son enjoys hugging his father and other men? Then what? Stop hugging him?<br><br>
I mean, maybe the father taught the son that hugging men was okay (by hugging his son)?<br><br>
It is confusing.

OMG, they're right!<br><br>
My dad hugged me regularly and I'm not gay. Quick, make a law! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/eyesroll.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="roll"><br><br>
Why can't people just accept others as they are?

Greaseball,<br>
You said you wondered why they focused on gay men and not lesbians....<br><br>
Focus on the Family thinks it has a pretty good understanding of the roots of male homosexuality, but as far as I know it doesn't have a theory on the origins of lesbianism. So the literature it puts out always deals with same-sex attraction among males.

From what DH tells me, having read that book, the Bible only mentions males being with males.<br><br>
I guess lesbianism isn't a problem in their opinion.<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/wink1.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="wink1"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">:

Also, almost all the studies done on gays to see how they are biologically different from non-gays are done with men. Do they just not care what causes women to be lesbian? (I'm sure that's fine with all the lesbians!)

honestly, I think for a lot of people 2 women together seems okay and for some men it's a turn on. Most likely the people doing these studies are men themselves.

Boy, the homophobes have come full circle. They used to say that if you DID hug your sons they would end up gay. At least the homophobes' sons are getting hugged, now. I guess that's some consolation. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/eyesroll.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="roll">
