Strongest Dad in the World

[From Sports Illustrated, By Rick Reilly]

Eighty-five times he's pushed his disabled son, Rick,
26.2 miles in marathons. Eight times he's not only
pushed him 26.2 miles in a wheelchair but also towed
him 2.4 miles in a dinghy while swimming and pedaled

``The thing I'd most like,'' Rick types, ``is that my
dad sit in the chair and I push him once.''
That statement brought tears to my eyes.

I've seen them on TV before. Very inspirational story.

Threads like this should come with a warning label. I'm sitting in the middle of an open office crying like a baby.

This story is in my list of favorites and I have watched it about 10 times now. Despite all of our differences, it is the human spirit and love of life and love of our neighbor, that binds all of us together. Life is so damn short.
Peace.
