... do you still just put in a tablespoon of detergent powder for dirty diapers? I'm doing my first load of FBs now with just a tablespoon, and it's not very foamy. Also, is hot water OK? My usual routine is a cold cycle, then a hot wash with detergent, then an extra cold rinse.

In the real world (outside of my funky water supply home) I don't think Charlie's is supposed to suds a lot. I would just watch for funky smell, and if that happens you are probably not using enough.

I use just the scoop they give you (I'm guessing its a tablespoon) and I've never checked for suds, but they come out smelling like nothing. So I'm guessing its working just fine
Though most times I drop some TTO & Lavender oil in the final rinse.

Anyone using this in a frontloader?? I am looking for an ecofriendly detergent that will actually get diapers clean in my front loader. I hate to go to the trouble of ordering over the internet if it's not going to work. Does Charlies work in FL machines?
TIA!

I have a FL and have had NO problems whatsoever using this detergent.

I use liquid, because I prefere liquid detergents. But that's just me.

I'm not sure if the ingredients are the same -- I want to say there's a slight difference but I'm not sure. I've not used the powder form, but I luuuuurve the liquid!

ETA: Will contact Charlie's folks and ask.

ETA: Here's what I found: The laundry powder is similar to the laundry liquid, but contains a lot more of the soda ash and no water. It also contains a bit of sodium silicate to help with grease stains and help keep the powder dry in wet environments. So there is a slight difference between the two.
HTH!
