How/where do you store them? We have some icons that ds's school sent home for us to use. At school they have a sentence strip and they velcro the icons on, so they have velcro on the back. I'm getting frustrated with keeping them all contained but also accessible for ds to use.

we had seperate *pages* that were meant for storage (basically holding them) they were colored differently than the board we used to communicate with so our child could identify them easily. For example our main board was red and the storage boards were all green. they basically had rows of velcro and we attached them to that.

Families that have fewer icons generally store it like luv-my-boys described, often with a separate page for each category of items. Families with larger amounts can use photo album pages for slides - just right for 1.5 or 1.45 sized cards, and you can put them in a binder and have multiple copies in a single slot.

We had strips of velcro on different places in the house. Toileting and hygiene ones on the bathroom vanity, places to go on the windowsill in the dining room, etc.

Honestly, the ones that got the most use were the food ones with magnetic strips on the back, which were on the dishwasher.
