OMG! I would FREAK! I have my last final exam day after tomorrow and I'm totally nto ready yet. I guess if I went into labor then the school would have to let me postpone it, but:
I don't have my birthkit yet.
My midwives have never even been to my house yet.
My birth pool (MIL's hot tub) still has chemicals in it.
I haven't washed all my dipes yet--including some of the nb ones and the half doz. preemie prefolds (that I might need if the babe came this early)
My house is *trashed*. I finally started sorting out the mountain of baby shower stuff yesterday, but still have a bag full of stuff to wash before I can put it away, a bunch of gift boxes and tissue paper to fold and put away from christmas, a crib bumper (which I need like a hole in the head), a bath seat (ditto), and a carseat box cluttering the living room--in addition to the usual laundry, doggie toys, school stuff, and random dishes and things (thanks DH
Only one carseat is installed--not the one I'd like to use to transport baby to doc or hospital in case of health issue. The one that is installed is not installed correctly--it's too loose. We need to take that somewhere to get it done properly sinc ewe can't figure it out.
My bathroom is still half-painted since DH did power-washing for MIL instead of painting for me this past weekend.
I haven't bought the herbs for my post-partum herbal baths (except the garlic. I guess I could just bathe in garlic...
Oh...and my cat has decided to spend the last three days puking randomly. And with all the clutter we've only been spot-cleaning, so the carpet looks pretty pukey. Could seriously use a good vacuuming, or possibly steam-cleaning.
I dunno if I'd stay home though if I went into labor today. I'm at 35+2. I need to have everything in order by Saturday though. As of 36 weeks, with my midwives' support, I'd stay home, so I guess that leaves um, five days to ge tthe place whipped into shape and gather all the stuff I need
Oh, and we're planning on going to the family cottage three hours away to help with spring cleaning the weekend after Easter. Perhaps I am insane to go away when I'm 37 weeks, but it's my first, so i'm hoping the adage that first babies come later rahter than earlier holds true in my case.
