Paddy has recently begun to love Mr Rogers Neighborhood. I'm thrilled, honestly, because its a nice, normal, QUIET show! Although I have a confession-I think Yo Gabba Gabba is the coolest little kids show there is. I wish they had that when I was little! So what are your toddlers watching?

My guy used to <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/love.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="love"> Blues Clues but now is a true blue Backyardigans fan. He loves to sing the songs and we talk about all their adventures after we watch it. I like that its about the kids using their imaginations and playing together outside.
DS watches tv maybe once or twice a week while I shower. He is very musical and his favorites are Yo Gabba Gabba and the backyardagains. However, he's OBSESSED with trucks right now, so I usually look for the military channel and he just watches tanks <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">

Blue's Clues is great. We have alot of Blue's dvd's and watch them every day. DS likes the Wiggles and Pooh a little bit but the only show he actually <i>watches</i> is Blue. Although the other day he shared something with me that came from the Disney channel. We were on our way to have a terrible meal at McD's <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/bag.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Bag">: when he said something about junk food. I said yes, it was junk food but he would have apples and milk with the junk food chicken nuggets, Then I asked where he learned about junk food and he told me from Captain Carlos. For those who don't know CC is a little boy who has to make a choice between a healthy meal and a junk food meal- he always picks the healthy one. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"> I am always amazed at how much information they take in and remember <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">

DS loves Bob the Builder. He also got a truck video with firetrucks, garbage trucks, and construction vehicles for Christmas that he really enjoys.<br><br>

DS's favorites are Bob the Builder, Word World and Big, Big World (all of which I don't even mind watching!<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngtongue.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Stick Out Tongue"> I was surprised to discover how "green" Bob is! In every episode they talk about the three Rs and ecology, etc. Word World has great animation and the voices of the characters are hysterical. And Big, Big World is really sweet and DS loves the music.

DD is 3. She's a long-time Blue's Clues fan. We like The Backyardigans too. The Wonder Pets, Charlie and Lola, Yo Gabba Gabba, Richard Scarry's "Best Ever" series and Big, Big World are also favorites. Scholastic makes <i>wonderful</i> kid's videos too.<br><br>
These are all on dvd though. We don't have cable, so I don't know what is actually on tv.

My kids like Backyardigans and cycle through some other shows. Right now they also like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Blue's Clues and Bob the Builder (which I absolutely detest). In the past they've been fans of Dora, Diego, Wonder Pets, and Jack's Big Music Show. Right now they don't care much about those.

My DD loves the Backyardigans. I even enjoy the music, I know more Backyardigans songs than I should admit! My son is all about dinosaurs and loves the Land Before Time stuff.
DS (21 m) is obsessed with Pingu. He does the "Honk honk" noise and everything. now he loves Pingu. I like this show b/c i have dvds of it and i can show short bits here and there instead of plopping him in front of the tv. (we dont' have a tv).<br><br>
if you dont' get Pingu, youtube it. its so cute! Not super educational tho...<br><br>
If he IS around TV he's just happy with anything! Especially barney.

My DS 2 1/2 will not watch tv normally. He has a slight interest in bob the builder and might look at something his brother watches for about 2 minutes and then gets bored. But then one day my husband was flipping channels and a john deere tractor show was on. DS started yelling for it. My husband kept it on and taped it. Now he DS begs to watch the show. He will watch for about 10 minutes and then go play. But if we try and turn it off he freaks. I know more about john deere then I ever knew I did not want to know. Thankfully (for us) he got a Catapillar (big yellow machines) dvd for Christmas. Now at least its a change of scenery once in a while. But even those he will not watch much of. He just asked for "cat" and I turned it on. In the time it took me to answer this post he had left the show for his toy trains.

My little one loves Curious George and he's become obsessed with Elmo now as well. He would also watch some Backyardigans from time to time.

My son like thomas, backyardigans, blues clues. Little einsteins. He really likes most shows that are on nick jr. But those are the few i can stand, so if they are on thats what i pick.<br>
On dvd we have a lot of elmos, from when he was younger and we didn't have cable. He will pull them out sometimes. We also watch a lot of disney movies. Ratatouille , cars, lion king, incredibles, aladin, robin hood.

My almost 4 yo dd loves Reading Rainbow for quiet time. It is such a calming show for us. Unfortunately, my oldest ds introduced her to Spongebob and she has fallen in love. She has decided she is going to grow some gills, marry him and live underwater in the pineapple. She said she would loan me a spare pair of gills so that I could come visit.<br><br>
My 22 mo doesn't watch tv much, except for my shower time in the morning. The only thing that really captures his interest is Teletubbies.

Isn't it weird the things some kids like? Both of mine will happily sit through Paper Moon (which is just fine with me because its a wonderful film!) I think they really like Tatum O'Neal's character-I honestly can't think of any other reason why they like it so much.
