I'm so excited, I just had to share. Dh has been pushing for this from the beginning. I had some anxiety problems in the beginning of the pregnancy and I just couldn't figure out how to pay for a homebirth, so I wasn't going to do it. But now my anxiety is gone and the closer I get to delivering the more I realize that I just don't want to get in the car and drive to an unfamiliar place to have my baby. I don't want to worry about what to do with dd while we are there. I don't want to be held hostage for 24 hours after my baby is born. So I found a midwife that we can actually afford and she is wonderful. She has put my mind completely at ease about everything. I didn't realize how heavily having a hospital birth was weighing on me until now. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted from me. I'm so happy I just had to share.

IF you are so lucky as to be held for only 24 hours!

Really, hospitals give me goosebumps. I felt like a piece of meat on a conveyor belt last time I had a baby in a hospital in the US.
I am aware many mamas had great experiences in hospitals and are happy with their choice, but not me. Hospitals scare me, and the one in my town here in the UK looks particularly awful!
I am praying nothing goes wrong for me to need a transfer - it is the only thing I am afraid of this pregnancy.

Congrats! I love when you have these sorts of relieving breakthroughs, you know? I'm so glad it's all worked out for you and that you found a midwife you love.
