It's a layered dip, cream cheese then salsa, then cheddar cheese, but I know the cream cheese layer is more than just cream cheese. Does anyone know what I'm talking about, and do you have a recipe please?
Do you mean the bean dip?

First layer is refried beans
Second layer is guacamole
Third layer is salsa
Fourth layer is Sour Cream/Cream Cheese and Taco seasoning

Top with shredded cheese, olives and green onions

Serve with Nacho chips and enjoy the indigestion!
Mmmm... I mix one brick of softened cream cheese with some sour cream or miracle whip and taco seasoning and spread that onto a platter. Then top with layers of shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes/salsa, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese and black olives. Yum.
I have the bean dip (aka Tex Mex dip here, but in other places it's called Wagon Wheel dip), but I think I have made something before with cream cheese and salsa. It's really good. I can see if I have the recipe if anyone wants it.
I do mine with refried beans and sour cream, cream cheese and sour cream, mixed with some taco seasoning. The sour cream lightens them to make them fluffy. Then salsa, cheese, olives and green onion garnish. I also mix them in the mixer, it comes out great. Use a pastry bag or a ziploc with a hole cut in it to layer it, otherwise it gets all mixed up if you try to spread it with a spatula.
I always do this one:

1 brick cream cheese
1 1/2 cup sour cream
1 cup salsa
2 tomatoes, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Soften the cream cheese. Add sour cream and mix until smooth.

Spread in the bottom of a cake pan.

Top with salda, tomatoes and green peppers.

Top with cheddar cheese.

When my mom does hers she doesn't add any fresh veggies, but I like the crunch of the fresh veggies in mine.
