A relative who just had a baby was unsupportive of my choice to exclusively breastfeed. When I was pregnant, she kept knocking on my plans to do it, and she told me in a know-it-all "You may not like it."
Well, not only do I not dislike it... I LOVE it!
I feel really good when I'm nursing DD. It really mellows me out! It has also made me a lot more careful about what I eat (taking my vitamins and making sure to eat a balanced diet) and making sure I am hydrated. All the long-term impacts aside, this is a nice perk for my own health.
But the best part is this bond we have. She gets the most amazing goofy smiles on her face when she nurses. I LOVE IT!!!
I'm shooting for nursing her a year, but would like to take it to 2.
