I don't have a history of allergies, but lately I've been getting watery eyes and having to clear my throat and blow my nose and sneezing alot. Not sure if it could be an allergy, chemical sensitivity or something else. I am very sensitive to offgassing fumes from pool/spa chemicles and other products if that matters.

Anyway, I really don't want to go to the Dr over it, as I can't stand mine he tends to just write a rx and send you on your way. And the symptoms aren't very bad, but they are annoying.

Anyone had success with homeopathy for this or some other natural treatment? I guess I better drag out my homeo books.

Looking for suggestions, and if this is what allergy sufferers experience. Hmmm should I try a antihistamine and if that helps it confirms it's an allergy??

Is it happening all the time?
If not, I'd suggest keeping a journal to help you figure out what you're allergic to. Write down the places you go, things you eat, cleaners you use, etc. Then mark down when you notice your stuffiness. If it's an allergy, you'll start to see a pattern of re-occurence.

No, it doesn't happen all the time. It does seem to be worse in the morning. I think that your right, keeping a journal about it is probably a really good idea and will hopefully help me figure out what the cause is.

You might try taking fenugreek and thyme. I'm not sure if it'll work on all kinds of allergies, but my family has had great success in using fenugreek and thyme to treat seasonal allergies due to pollen and mold spores. I'm not sure what the proper dosage is, either (sorry!) but I think you can buy a fenugreek/thyme combination in pill form at most health food stores, and the bottle probably has a dosage recommendation on it. It's the only natural treatment we've found that really, really works.

Allergies can pop up on you in adulthood, even if you've had no symptoms before. My dad didn't suffer from seasonal allergies until he was in his mid-twenties and had to spend a month on an offshore oil rig (he's an engineer.) We're not sure what was out there that triggered it, but now he's got such severe allergies that, even with the steroid dosepacks that the doctor prescribes, he can't hardly spend any time outside during September and October. The rest of the year, he's fine. What you've got sounds like seasonal allergies to me.

ETA: I think thyme is contraindicated if you're breastfeeding, as it tends to dry you out.

I know my dad has similar problems with allergy-type symptoms, and he's been taking Allerplex and another homeopathic allergy-reliever lately and it has helped him out TREMENDOUSLY! He orders them from iherb.com. Sorry about not knowing the second brand he uses.

Thanks you guys. I went to the health food store over the weekend and picked up Dolimed a regional allergy homeopathic that I hope will help. If not, I'll check out your other suggestions. No worries about BFing, my dd is a teen
