In the past few days I have made two male friends (who are circ'd,) very anti-circumcision. They are 18 and 23. I'm so proud of myself! I shared this link with them:

http://oknocirc.blogspot.com/

and I made them read the transcript found on the graphic circ video thread. I couldn't bear to watch the video, otherwise I'd have had them watch it

One said he was feeling retro-active pain after reading them, and the other said he'd never really thought about it. Both said there was NO WAY they'd ever let anyone do that to their children when they had children.

sometimes people ask me....'why bother telling someone who doesn't have kids?' I always think early education is the best! You get to them before they are all emotional about doing it. I think talking to young people, like you did, is a brillent move. the younger they are the better. It is so hard to undo the brainwashing of society by the time they reach parenthood.

Good Job!

That's great!!

I'm a pretty nonconfrontational person, but today on an BB some mamas were talking about circumcising and I was gonna bite my tounge and walk away because they don't want to hear it and they asked that no one "bash" circumcisino, but I couldn't not step in their and respectfully add my two cents. Their reasonings were purely cosmetic. I couldn't NOT say anything. I'm a little afriad of getting them all pissed at me, but it's worth it in this case.

This was my problem until I was in the NICU at our hospital and heard a baby screaming... now my big fat mouth has no problem yammering away at people when they're thinking about circ'ing.
: Now, I'm all sorts of anti-circ... or, what it is the word used on here, intactavist???? LOVE IT!!

Talking to 'young people' is easy for me, because I'm 21.
: I was just so excited to have shared this information with them, and to have both be so receptive to it! I really thought they would have still argued for it with me for a little bit longer, but neither did.

When I first started posting here, I showed everything to my younger son. It taught him to value his foreskin. Educating young people is an excellent way to reduce the circ. rate in the future.
