I really love the idea of being able to spray off diapers (I am not a dunker), but I am just convinced that there is going to be mucho splatter, and that I will end up with a wet soggy diaper that I then have to carry back down the hallway to the diaper pail. There is no room in our teeny bathroom for a diaper pail, so that's not an option. And I seriously can't deal with wiping up poopy splatter.

Plus, we live in an old house with metal tubing, and I just know that getting it installed will be a pain.

Is anyone able to tell me that all these issues will end up not being a problem, and I should just shut up and order it already? Or are these all valid problems and I should figure something else out?

The only person I know IRL who had one got rid of it after just a few uses - she said the splatter was horrendous - little poopy-droplets everywhere! But I do know they didn't use the mini-shower brand - they had some other brand.

I dunk. For carrying diapers to the diaper pail, I use the diaper pail lid as a tray.

I'm going to throw a big fat party if my dh ever takes the metal tube off to figure out what the heck size soft line I have to get.

I wish I could say "yippee, go for it" but I have had the darn thing for a MONTH and still dont have it installed because I cant figure it out

I have a mini shower and I love it! No problems with poopy splatter--just hold it closer to the toilet, and don't use it full throttle.

And if you have the metal tubing, you can go get an adapter at Lowe's or Home Depot for about $2 in the plumbing section. You don't have to replace the tubing entirely. At least, we didn't.

I was afraid of the same thing. But my 4 yo, whom I thought would do it has never touched it. I also never spray around her, so she has never seen me use the valve. I think that helps.

Newbie here--I cloth-diapered my toddler after a year of disposables. This is COMPLETELY different from cloth-diapering a newborn, which I'll be faced with in a few weeks. Here's my question: why not keep the diaper pail next to the toilet, so you can spray it off and immediately plop it into the pail? When it gets full, you can transfer it down the hall to the laundry room.

We'll be getting one of these, too, and I'm determined to get the routine down to a science. I know it's going to be messy at first, though...that's why I'm sticking it in the GUEST bathroom! (Plus, it will be more or less out-of-the-way from the kiddos, who really just room with us, anyway).

We also have a teeny bathroom but even though there isn't much room for it, I decided to get a Potty Pail It is AEWSOME! The sprayer is so great and the bucket catches all the poopy sprays (though I got a little nuts and turned it up too strong today and there's spray around the potty a bit, but just water, no poo) We have a community laundry room in our building (and it's $2 a load for a wash & dry and no extra rinses) but we don't pay for our water, so I works really well for me to rinse as the dipes are used and then just do one wash.

Feeling the minishower love here. We have had one since Jenna was a tiny tot(well she is still tiny but..)

You will love it. You will get used to it. You will wonder why it took you so long to get one.

And Pam... get that thing installed! Your DH will thank you! When our first one broke (got a cheapo version off another board), my DH looked at me and said "next time, order a better one. And do it quickly!"
