Oh dear. I'm just a total worry wart. I'm worried about all the genetic problems my little bean could have. I'm worried because my diet could have been better (I'm 12 weeks) up until now. I'm worried because I miss days taking my prenatals because they make me puke. I'm worried because I'm not getting enough sleep. I'm worried because I feel like I'm not doing my best to provide a good nuturing environment for my womb.

I am a complete worry lunatic while I am pregnant.

"the baby is not moving enough"
"the baby is moving too much"
"Not eating enough"
"eating too much"
scared to go to the bathroopm because there might be blood "
Scared not to go to the bathroom bcause I'll get uninary tract infection.
scared to take antibiotics
scared of the infection more

and the list goes on and on.

Towards the end of this pregnancy I relized that my obsessing is not normal and there are medications to help. It is a lot like PPD but pre-natally induced freakyness. This may be something you want to talk with your HCP with. I don't know how much you are worrying. I couldn't sleep, I was imopbilized with fear somedays, definitely outside the scope of normal. you may still be way in the normal zone but it certainlyu won't hurt to bring it up.

and relax

I worried about so many things the first time, but for some reason I haven't worried much at all with this pregnancy. Well, except I worry that my complacency means that I am setting myself up for a fall.

I know it's hard, but try not to worry about the nutrition and prenatals in the early days. I didnt manage to eat anythng but plain pasta or bread for the first trimester for both pregnancies. And you know what? Both babies were big and healthy, and both are way ahead of the norm developmentally. They certainly turned out OK - your body will provide what your baby needs. Just try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy. There is all the time in the world to worry after the baby is born.

Pumpkin - Don't Worry!!! You wouldn't believe the things i did while i was preg and didn't know it!! TWICE!! Trust me, you'll be fine! I've had one healthy baby boy and may one-day have the baby girl that's been growing in my belly for 10 months!!!!!!

But the worrying, that could cause you problems!! Stress is really not good for the baby and you adding stress by worrying so much can't be good.

Just relax... everything will be fine... besides, just the fact that you are worried means your going to be a GREAT mom!!!!!!

Don't worry! If your prenatals are giving you trouble, find a good cereal that's nice and fortified and try to down a serving or two--dry if necessary. Mostly just eat whatever you can stomach, I had weeks in the first trimester when it was ramen noodles and not much else, and we're doing fine now! (I also had weeks LATER in the pg that were beans and rice or ramen and not much else, but because we had nothing else rather than because I couldn't stomach anything else, and we're STILL fine).

Munch ginger snaps (the kind made w/ molasses have a decent amount of iron in 'em, which can help if you can't keep down the pretnatal) for the nausea, take heart than just about anything has SOME nutritional value, and that the baby will get what it needs even if you aren't eating well, it'll just take it out of YOUR system.

THanks ladies. In my first pregnancy I ate raw vegetables and was a total health nut, and this time around it's nothing but mac and cheese and taco bell and these are two foods that would have never entered my house before. sigh. My two year old is well acting like a two year old and I feel exhausted all the time and that's why I'm not getting enough sleep. I guess I should talk to my mw and see what she thinks. She prolly already thinks I'm a weirdo because on the first visit I was stressing about blighted ovum. BUt hearing the heartbeat relieved that.

It's good to hear I'm not the only one stressing, although I wish we didn't go through this.

Try not to worry! It is good to be health conscious, but not to obsess.

My mom smoked pot her whole pg w/ me, and lived off a diet of Mc Donalds, CoCo Puffs, and Coca Cola (she was a naive 17 yr old). I was born healthy and have had the good fortune of a very healthy life.

I didn't take any prenatals w/ my 1st pg, lacked sleep from being in school and working FT, ate an okay diet, drank coffee every day... and had a healthy 8 lbs 13 oz boy who also has been extremly healthy since birth.

I am into my 15th week and my fears are going away more and more everyday. I hope they subside for you. I have not been very good at all with taking my prenatal vitamin either. I was not very good about taking them with my dd either and she is very very healthy, happy and if I do say so myself very smart. I also lived on drive thru food I was lovin Wendys . That was my 2nd home then .Please try to take it easy and relax.

You will be holding a happy heathy baby real soon.
