I saw a leaflet last time I went to my sons ped office about "maryland immunet". I did not think anything about it cuz I only saw one and the doctor never said anything about it. I looked it up today to find that his doctors office reports to them, and that I never had to sign anything saying they could give his records to them! Im so pissed!!! I found a form to "opt-out". The form says to fax it to the immunet people. Now does that mean I fax it, or the doctors office? Should I just fax it anyway then give the doctor a copy of the opt-out form? Im so upset over this, and this website does not offer any help on how to opt-out.:

When you filled out your child's birth certificate information at the hospital, your child was placed into the state immunization registry.

Q. Is parent consent required to share the record with ImmuNet?

A. No.
Senate Bill 626, the Coordination of Immunization Services Act of 2001, has mandated that Maryland’s ImmuNet is an opt-out system. This means that all immunization information can be entered into ImmuNet unless a parent refuses. Should this happen, a parent must complete the Data Sharing Refusal Form, return it to the ImmuNet staff to make their child’s record inaccessable to ImmuNet authorized users.

Ok I know I should probably go over to mothering and do a search for I ask but here goes... What's immunet? and should I also be concerned? I live in the state of AL. Anyone have any heads up info. I should be reading on? We have chosen to delay all vaxes until 2 yrs. old. Just told dr. this till I can read all I can. I know we will have to deal with waivers for school and all that good jazz but much later as the twins are are only 3 months old.
