to my family and myself for looking into it before making the mistake. I honestly didn't know what exactly it was and assumed it was some simple and painless procedure since "everyone" had it done. Well, obviously I was wrong. If it weren't for my family telling me not to circ, I never would have looked into it. Now when I hear about little boys being circ'd I wonder if DS really was so lucky to have been left intact rather than being senselessly mutilated.

I just hope one day my son will be just as thankful as I am.

Tell me about it! We almost did circ until I talked to someone on here who convinced me to look into it more. I had just given birth and I had told the nurses in the hospital we would not be circing, I just couldnt let my little precious baby boy go. Then when my family found out I didnt circ him they told me horrible things about people wo hated being intact and had problems, and my mom is a nurse and said its horrible cleaning out an old mans foreskin and other bull $hit like that. I broke down and thought I had made a mistake....I felt like I should have had him circed...so I called a urologist (BTW ,my baby was only about 2 weeks old) and set up the appt, I came on here looking for more info. What I found shocked and discusted me. I could never do that to my baby!! People deceived me when they told me it was a "simple" and "painless" procedre. I cancelled his circumcision appointment right away. I have NEVER doubted my dcision ever since, no matter what my family thinks of me....I will never hurt my child

Good Job Mama in doing the reserch and leaving him intact. I only wish my family was more supportive in my choice. The only people who are supportive are my MIL & SIL and of course DH. My SIL is a nurse and she tells me she sees just as many problems with circ vs intact if the person is dirty they are just dirty but she will always take care of anyone reguardless of their status so to speak she just teaches her boys how to clean and take care. We are a pretty open family when it comes to talking about just about anything and I know my nepews are pretty happy to be intact
